Anaesthesia (QARTS) Prospective and Continuing Trainees of the Queensland Anaesthesia Rotational Training Scheme Candidates who are on or have applied to be selected onto the Queensland Anaesthesia Rotational Training Scheme (QARTS) are advised to select “College/Pathway (Determined Placements)” as the first preference facility. QARTS is an Approved Rotational Training Program accredited by The Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) in accordance with ANZCA‟s Regulation 37 and the Handbook for Training and Accreditation. QARTS reports to Anaesthetic Directors and includes all Queensland hospitals, plus the Lismore, Tweed and Darwin Hospitals that have been accredited for training by ANZCA. For administrative purposes the scheme is divided into four groups of rotations, termed the “Northern”, “Southern”, “Central”, and the “Gold Coast” rotations but it is possible to swap between them. There is also an accredited anaesthetic position with the Careflight service. This position is suitable for 4th or 5th year trainees with a special interest in retrieval or military medicine.
