How to apply for a job A how to guide for candidates Effective 29 August 2013 auspost.com.au Searching for jobs To begin searching a job with Australia Post, please follow the instructions below. Click on Jobs under Quick links To search for advertised vacancies, click View Jobs in the Featured Jobs box. Australia Post How to apply for a job 02 A list of vacancies will be displayed. If you wish to view the job description, click the position title. A new window will be displayed. Here you can view the job description and begin your application. You can return to the list of vacancies at any stage. If you wish to apply for the selected job posting click the Apply button. Note: For assistance please refer to our FAQ and Troubleshooting guide. Register your interest If you are unable to locate a suitable vacancy, you may express your interest via the Professional Jobs and Operations & Support Jobs. The Jobs at Australia Post page enables you to read detailed descriptions about the many areas of employment that Australia Post has to offer, and you can express your interest in applying. A new window will appear, if you’ve registered your details or applied for a role previously, click the Application Wizard link to login to your account. You will need to enter your Username and password. Your username will be the e-mail address that you registered with. If you have forgotten your password, click the Password Forgotten link and follow the prompts. Applying for a job If you have not previously registered your details in our eRecruitment system, you will need to complete the mandatory fields to begin your application. Please note that all mandatory fields are marked with red * asterisks and you won’t be able to progress your application unless all of these fields have been completed. Once you have completed the required fields, ensure that you have read the Privacy and Data Usage Consent Statement. Tick the box to acknowledge that this has been completed then click the Register and Apply link. Australia Post How to apply for a job 04 1. Personal Data 1. To set up your candidate profile click on the My Profile tab and complete the Personal Data Section. 2. Once you have completed the form, click the Next Step button and complete the remaining tabs. Note: As you complete each step, continue to click Next Step to move on to the next stage in your application. Example: Street/House Number 2: 123 Post Street Country: Australia Location: Richmond State: VIC Postal Code: 3121 2. Education/Training 1. To include any education or training information in your application, click the Add button. 2. You will now be able to complete the fields and add your information. Tip: If you are uploading your resume in the Attachments tab that contains information relating to your Education/Training, you do not need to fill in the related sections in your application. Once you have completed the fields click OK. You can do this as many times as you require. Australia Post How to apply for a job 05 3. Work Experience 1. To include details of your current or previous work experiences in your application, click the Add button. 2. You will now be able to complete the fields and add your information. Once completed, click the OK button Tip: If you are uploading your resume in the Attachments tab and it contains information relating to your Education/Training you do not need to fill in the related sections in your application. 4. Attachments This screen allows you to upload any supporting documentation such as a resume, cover letter, references, certificates etc. 1. Click Add to select your attachment and enter the document details. 2. Enter the document title 3. Select the attachment type 4. Select the language (English) 5. Click Browse to locate the file on your computer. 6. When completed, click the Transfer button and your attachment will be uploaded. Australia Post How to apply for a job 06 5. Qualifications Australia Post is a diverse organisation with a large variety of jobs that may require different skill sets and qualifications. At this stage we would like you to tell us about any qualifications or licenses that you have. 1. To begin entering your qualifications, click the Add button. 2. To choose the qualification/s that you have, click in the Selected box and you a tick will appear. You will also need to select the proficiency of that qualification. To do this, click the drop down box in the Proficiency column, and select the applicable option. 3. Once you have entered your qualifications, click the OK button. 6. Questionnaires The Questionnaires may differ depending on the role applied for. Please ensure that you complete each questionnaire. Australia Post How to apply for a job 07 7. Cover Letter After completing the mandatory fields, you are given the option of writing a cover letter. Please ensure that you chose the appropriate option in the How did you find out about this position/ Australia Post field. The cover letter is not mandatory; however it provides you with an opportunity to tell us why you are interested in the job and why we should choose you. 8. Complete Application This section gives you an overview of your application and profile. It also requests your permission to release your application to the Australia Post database. To submit your application, ensure that relevant consent options have been ticked and click the Send Application Now button. Tip: If at any stage you would like to amend your details before finalising your application you can click on the appropriate section and make the required changes. If you have submitted your application and would like to make any changes, you can update your application at anytime via the login page. Australia Post How to apply for a job 08
