How to activate and set up your account for 1st time students
This lesson is a walkthrough on how to set up your UWS email account and access the UWS
WebCampus system.
Step 1: Account Activation
When your account has been created by the UWS IT department, you will be sent an email to the
personal email UWS has on file. This email will have your UWS username (1) and temporary
password (2), and the web address of the UWS email system (3).
Open a browser window and enter the email address provided in the welcome letter.

You will be prompted to enter the username (your full UWS email address) and your temporary
password.
Step 2: Set up Outlook
You will be asked to set up some basic options.
Via the drop down menus select your primary language and timezone. If you need vision
assistance, select the box that will enable this functionality. Click, "OK?".

Step 3: Change your password
Once you are logged into the system, you will want to change your password. Find the Options
key in the upper right corner. There you will find the selection to change your password.
The new password must have 9 characters or more. A good password is one that is easy for you to
remember but difficult for someone else to guess, even if they know you fairly well. Passwords
should contain upper and lower case letteOnce you are logged into the system, you will want to
change your password. Find the Options key in the upper right corner. There you will find the

Log out of the UWS email system by clicking "sign out" at the upper right of the page.

Step 4: Log into WebCampus Part A
In your browser go to the following URL: https://webcampus.uws.edu/
Click "Login" in the upper left hand of the page.
Step 4: Log into WebCampus Part B
This will bring up the shown window. Using your FULL email and the password you have
changed, complete the fields.
Click "Login".

Step 5: Edit your profile Part A
If it is your first time logging into WebCampus, you will be prompted to edit your profile settings.
From here you can change settings. When in doubt, it is recommended you leave the default
settings.
Email Display: This provides options of who can see your UWS email address.
Email Format: What format you wish to recieve your emails in.
Email digest: This provides options if you wish to suscribe and recieve emails regarding new
postings in forums. Please note that depending on this setting, you may recieve emails everytime
someone post to a forum.
Forum auto-suscribe: This allows options such automatically suscribing to forums when you post
to the forum. Please note, that unsuscribing to a forum does not probibit you from posting to a
forum or reading post. This only determines if you will or will not recieve notifcations via email
when someone else post.
Forum tracking: Do you wish to have it indicated which postings in forums you have read or not.
When editing test: Recommended to leave as "Use HTML editor"
Screen reader: enable if you are visually impaired and need assistance.
Personal info, City/Town, Country, Timezone: As appropriate.

Part 5 Edit your profile Part B- Adding a picture & interest
You may provide a picture of yourself for others to see when you participate in course activiites.
Method 1: Drag and drop the file of your picture into box indicated (1)
Method 2: Click "Add" (2) and follow the upload directions
InterestIn this text box (3) you may include personal information regarding your interest which you wish to
share.

Step 5: Edit your profile Part C: Optional Info
The option information is NOT required for you to provide. Include this information only if you wish
for others to have access to it. This information will NOT be available to other students, only UWS
faculty and employees.
Step 6: Finish editing profile
Click "Update profile" in order to save any information that has been provided.

Return to the homepage
After resetting your profile settings you can return to the homepage of WebCampus via two means:
1- The "Home" button on the header.
2- The "Home" tab in the bread crumb line.

Revisiting the profile settings
If at anytime you wish to edit these settings, you may return to this page by clicking the following
link on your homepage.
