TE Connectivity's Raychem PowerGel sealant has been developed to meet the mechanical, electrical, temperature, and material compatibility requirements of direct buried and overhead applications. PowerGel sealant consists of a silicone based cross-linked polymer mix. It will conform to and seal surfaces and has elasticity and shape retention for easy handling. The gel and its cover provide physical protection, electrical insulation, and a convenient means of delivering gel compression. PowerGel sealant has excellent insulating properties and is halogen free. GelWrap Closure Application Method To apply a gel filled product to a cable splice or tap, position it over the cable and compress into place. Special tools are not required. Since the gel is precured, the product can be immediately placed into service. Additionally, the gel product can be easily and cleanly removed if re-entry or inspection is desired.
