2010 NES launches Sun Switch, a service to provide solar PV systems to homeowners

The remit of the NHER Accreditation Scheme is widened to allow membership
to Commercial Energy Assessors, On Construction Domestic Energy Assessors
and Public Building Energy Assessors.
2007
NES launches its Domestic Energy Assessor training course and NHER
accreditation scheme for Domestic Energy Assessors.
2006
NES launched the SAVA certification scheme for Home Inspectors.
2004SAVA becomes the first independent centre to assess candidates applying
for the ABBE Diploma in Home Inspection.
2004
NES develops E-efficiency - the world’s first online energy advice service. It is
deployed for Powergen (now EON) and subsequently by the Energy Saving Trust
and many others.
2003NES merges with Optima Energy to extend and enhance its consultancy
services.
2003 The NHER team at NES co-develops the RDSAP energy rating methodology
and Energy Performance Certificate for the UK government.
2003 In response to the EU Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings,
NES acquires SAVA to help meet the requirements of the Housing Bill’s new
Home Information Packs.
2000NES broadens its services to include surveying and its new Field Operations
team works with Powergen on the Government’s fuel poverty programme
Warm Front.
2000
NES moves into their current head office – the National Energy Centre.
1994EAS changes its name to National Energy Services Ltd (NES) and becomes a
trading subsidiary of the National Energy Foundation to run the NHER scheme
and undertake research, consultancy and project management.
1990NEF launch the National Home Energy Rating (NHER) scheme – the first quality
assured energy assessment scheme of its kind and 17 years before EPCs. The
first energy rating certificate is handed to UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher
by NES’ very own Product Development Director Dyfrig Hughes.
1988The National Energy Foundation (NEF) is established to promote energy
conservation and provide help to improve energy efficiency in residential
buildings.
1983Energy Advisory Services Ltd is established by Prof. Jake Chapman. EAS help
develop the BREDEM model which will later become the basis for the NHER
and SAP. EAS will later become National Energy Services.
