AEPA vs. NES...What is the NES?
In an effort to nationally
standardized Highly Qualified tests for teachers, the
once popular Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessments (AEPA) has now
been replaced by the multi
-state recognized National
Evaluation Series Test
(NES). This allows teachers
the ability to move between states without the
need to continually prove
academic content or highly
qualified status. Furthermore, the test has contem-
porary content, is 100%
computer based testing,
and more expedient results.
For more information on
the NES test, you may go

What do I do when my fingerprint card is expiring?
Every six years, the required IVP fingerprint
card expires. Approximately 2 months prior to
expiration, (i.e. 6 years
after issue date), contact
Edna Solares in the HR
Department, ext. 1007,
as she has the proper
forms. The process takes
approximately 10 minutes and can be done at
the Sahuarita Police Department, which is lo-
cated directly across
from the main campus,
at: 375 W. Sahuarita
Center Way, Sahuarita,
AZ 85629. If you are
resident of Sahuarita, the
fee to collect finger
prints is $3 cash, and $5
cash if you are a nonresident. You will also
need a check or money
order in the amount of
$67 made out to “DPS”
when you go to roll your
prints. The Sahuarita Police Department will then
send in your application
and money order for
you.
Please be sure to keep
for the yellow carbon
copy of your application
to give to HR for our records!
ACT NOW get your Early Childhood Endorsement
NOW is the best time
to obtain your early
childhood endorsement. In light of feedback from the field regarding a shortage of
Kindergarten teachers,
the Arizona Department
of Education is temporarily reinstating the
Early Childhood Rule that
allows teachers to qualify for the Early Childhood endorsement with
three years full-time
teaching experience in
grades Birth-Grade 3 and
a passing score on the
Early Childhood Subject
Knowledge exam. Individuals who do not have
three years of full time
teaching experience
prior to July 1, 2012 will
only be able to apply under this option until October 1, 2014.
