Why Study An
American Degree
Program?
The Upper Iowa University (UIU) Bachelor of Science (4+0) program at SEGi provides
students with the opportunity to experience US-styled education. This style of education
focuses heavily on the practical elements of learning with an emphasis on classroom
interaction between the students and lecturers as well as on continuous learning through
group projects, presentations and field trips outside the classroom. The American Degree
Program focuses more on assessing the students through course work and places less
emphasis on examinations.
The UIU Bachelor of Science (4+0) program also allows for full completion of studies locally
at SEGi. Alternatively students have the flexibility to interchange between SEGi and UIU’s
Fayette Campus in the United States.
Student Clubs
Student interaction, participation and activities are important aspects of the UIU American
Degree program both socially and academically. Thus, SEGi’s American Degree Program
students and lecturers have come together to form student clubs. The main aim of the student
clubs is to provide students and lecturers with a constructive ground for social gatherings as
well as to increase awareness within their respective fields and make available a forum for
sharing ideas and information regarding global issues.
