Sacraments of Initiation: Adults interested in receiving the Sacraments of Baptism or Confirmation or in
becoming Catholic should speak to Gail Corcoran. Parish Baptisms for children are celebrated the first Sunday
at St. Mary’s at 1:30 and other times by request at both St. Lawrence and St. Mary’s Churches. Parents are
asked to call the pastoral office to register prior to the program of instruction. Instruction is the last Sunday of
the prior month at 1:30 in the rectory.
Sacrament of Reconciliation: St. Mary’s - Saturday 2:45-3:30 p.m. or by appointment
Sacrament of Marriage: It is necessary to call the rectory nine months ahead of time
Pastoral Care of the Sick and Homebound: Please let us know if you or a neighbor are going to the hospital
or are homebound so that we can pray and visit you.
Eucharistic Adoration: Wednesday following the 12:10 Mass concluding with Benediction at 1:30

We meet the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month in
the lower church at 10:30 a.m. All young adults

Catholic Appeal Update:
Thank you to all who participated in the 2010
Catholic Appeal. We have raised $58,849 from
164 households.
Community Knitting Group
We will meet next on Sunday, June 20th from 1:00
to 3:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria. New
members welcome.
Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
Northeast Catholic Family
Conference – June 27
The theme of the conference is “Called to
Greatness”.
The Northeast Catholic Family
Conference will rekindle the Truth in hearts of all
ages – that we are “Called to Greatness”. It takes
place on June 27 from 1 pm – 8 pm at St. Mary’s
Church in Waltham. The day will feature an event
with Cardinal Sean, Mass and Adoration, a Marian
Procession, workshops for adults, separate teen
and children’s programs, a family cookout, and
inspiring speakers including Leah Darrow, a
former contestant on the Reality Television Show,
“America’s Next Top Model.” You don’t want to
miss this great event for the Family. For more

Eritrean Community News
The Eritrean Community that worships in the
lower church of the St. Mary’s Campus will be
switching to their summer schedule on Sunday,
June 27th. They will be here from 9:00 a.m. to
1:00 p.m. If you happen to see any members of
this community, please make them feel welcome.

Flag Day Traffic Alert
All attending the 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Masses
on June 20th (next Sunday) are advised to use
streets off Kent Street and Aspinwall Avenue to
access St. Mary’s Church. Harvard Street will be
closing down at 10:00 a.m. After Mass, please
exit via Harvard Street but you will only be
allowed to travel south towards Brookline Village.
Brookline Police officers will be assisting both
vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

St. Mary’s Men’s Group
The June meeting of St. Mary’s Men’s Group will
be held on Thursday, June 24 in the lower church
at 7:00 p.m. This will be a non-speaker meeting
when we read, reflect on and discuss the readings
of the following Sunday, in this case, June 27.
We will also review and discuss the schedule of
speakers for next fall, winter and spring meetings
and explore interest in showing videos at some of
these meetings. We will also have non speaker
meetings in July and August. Input on all of these
items from members is most important and all are
urged to make every effort to attend – and bring
your reflections on the readings and suggestions
for speakers and topics. Also, a most warm
invitation is extended to all men of the parish to
come and see if St. Mary’s Men’s Group is for
