Avodat Shorashim – Family Roots 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Look at family photographs. Identify pictures of your relatives. Find out where and when they lived and how you are related to them. Ask family members to tell you about your relatives. Important information would be: a)name b) date of birth c) place of birth d) date of marriage e) place of marriage f) date of death g) place of death Once you have this information you can draw your family tree. A sample chart – students starts with themselves then splits to fathers side and mothers side. Each parent gets split into paternal grandpa/grandma and maternal grandpa/grandma. Each grandparent gets split into paternal great-grandpa/grandma and maternal great-granpa/grandma. With grandmothers, if you can include their family name, this would be good.
