HI EVERYBODY!
The Nobel Peace Prize Concert will take place at Oslo Spektrum on December 11,
following the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony on December 10.
The concert will be broadcast on NRK1 from 19.30 hrs and will feature both
Norwegian and international artists performing in honour of the laureates this
year - Kailash Satyarthi and Malala Yousafzai.
Iconic songwriter and prolific singer Steven Tyler, Bollywood sensation Ustad
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, British soul singer Laura Mvula, Norway’s Gabrielle, the
inspirational Girls of The World, and a sparkling Bollywood number will entertain
the audiences. Queen Latifah will host this year’s musical celebration.
This is an event not to be missed!

Nicki Minaj to Oslo in March
The queen of rap will perform in Oslo Spektrum March 17.
In 2014 Nicki Minaj has made her film debut, led the MTV Music Awards, set a Youtube
record and won her fifth consecutive “Best Female Hip-Hop Artist” award at BET
Awards. Now she is concluding another great year by releasing their third album, The
Pinkprint, and in the spring of 2015 she is going on a European tour.

Isac Elliot, Oslo Spektrum, December 13 at 19.30
Isac Elliot is only 13 years old, but he already has a hit album and a number of
major concert appearances under his belt.
Elliot’s breakthrough came in 2013, when his debut album Wake Up World
reached fourth place on the Norwegian charts with the help of the hit single
“New Way Home”.
In the spring of 2013 Elliot opened for Justin Bieber in Telenor Arena, and the
young pop idol has also performed for tens of thousands of fans at VG-lista
Topp 20 in Oslo.
December 13 he will sing and dance for thousands in Oslo Spektrum.

CHRISTMAS CONCERTS

Christmas concert with Gaute Ormåsen, Cecilia Vennersten and Christian
Ingebrigtsen, all known to be great singers. They offer a warm and evocative
holiday concert with a programme that features both Christmas classics and
other musical gems.

Silent Night - Holy Night, Grorud Kirke, December 11 at 18 and 21.00
The concert “Silent Night - Holy Night” has toured Norway during Advent for
almost 30 years, spreading the Christmas spirit in churches across the country.
This year’s performers are Tor Endresen, Rune Larsen, Elisabeth Andreassen
and Marian Aas Hansen. The quartet will perform a mix of traditional Christmas
carols and classic psalms, accompanied by musicians Øystein Lund Olafsen and
Olav Torget.

DANCE
The Nutcracker, Den Norske Opera & Ballett, until December 22
Every year before Christmas, the Norwegian National Ballet stages Peter Tsjaikovskij’s
Nutckracker, a Christmas ballet for the whole family.
This classic is full of magic, adventure, beautiful music and excellent dancing. We are
introduced to little Clara, who after the family Christmas party sets out on a dream
adventure where she meets the Mouse King, the Snow Queen and the Sugar Plum Fairy.
Not to forget the Nutcracker Prince who guides her around wonderland, where she is
given a display of dance from all corners of the world.
In the National Ballet version, there is a multitude of small and large ballerinas,
colourful costumes and impressive dancing. All set to Tsjaikovskij’s infectious music,
played by the Opera Orchestra.

Oslo Comedy Clubs, Queens, December 12 – 13 at 20.30
The Oslo Comedy Clubs were started by comedians Paul B. Edwards and Simon Emanuel, who began performing comedy in
Oslo in early 2012 after spending years on the UK comedy circuit and performing internationally on three different continents.
The month of December features international star Nik Coppin and UK comedy circuit regular James Cook, as well as (on
Friday), Norwegian newcomer Miriam Larsen performing in English for only the third time.

Old fogies Nusse & Gluggen are fully occupied with taking care of the stables during
Christmas, but at the same time, they cannot stop thinking about the presents they
want to receive and keep singing their beloved Christmas carols.

Christmas Workshop in Hakkespettene, Ekebergparken Skulpturpark, until
December 14 from 12.00 – 15.30
Hakkespettene (‘the woodpeckers’) is the name of Ekebergparken’s children’s club
located in a specially designed house between the two wooden villas on Kongsveien.
Every Sunday, children can join an art workshop based on Ekebergparken’s diverse
nature, history and art.
The workshop is drop-in between 12.00 and 15.30. Tickets are NOK 150 per child for
one hour. Children under the age of 3 should be accompanied by an adult.

Christmas with Prøysen and Carpenter Anderson is a puppetry production by Oslo Nye
Teater based on Alf Prøysen’s Christmas story The Night Carpenter Anderson Bumped
into Santa Claus.
The performance has been increasing in popularity in the last years and is already
considered one of the Christmas favourites by many.
