OUR COVER artwork is by James
McNease, depecting two Honey Tanks
and a Panzer X Jaguar. The PzKwX-J
was used experimentally in Afrika
during 1942. The 6 road wheeled
PzIII was too short, the 8 -wheeled
PzIV too long. Unfortunately,the
PzX was not furnished with a rad
iator and the experiment failed.
One PzX only was built.

Editor's Corner, Comments by the Chief of Design, etc.
^
Well, we have a new Editor (again). Having forced the job on Trevelian for two
issues, I was unable to prevent his resignation. Especially since his new boss
demanded it. Avoiding all possible one-liners, I am proud to announce that v.r
Anthony V Trevelian married hiss Janet Sharon Kingham on Christmas Day.
Fart
of the Contract involved an agreement to move to Dallas, away from Janet's
Kother and the JagdPanther Offices. So, While gaining a daughter I air. losing
an Editor, one of the most difficult to replace of my Officers. His assistant,
unfortunately, (i^r Dortmund ) left HQ shortly before Anthony did. bo, 1 аш new
Editor until I can train someone else. The resignations of Tony, Karl D and his
cousin Karl Kruger, have created a strain on the system. At tn>s instaf^r of lea
ving, we were starting several new projects, and these have been held up. The
reprinting of issue 1 got through okay, but the reprinting of two nad to wait
til KK sent us back the originals he was re-editing. We have the inserts to
this issue in stock, and have shipped them to those who ordered ifFlieger.kampf and issue 2 will have to wait till I get issue 4 finished, meaning that
by the time you read this, I will probably have them at the printers, by the
time you write in we should have stocks of issues 1-4. Then t;.ere is Command
College. Trev was supposed to be Dean of that, we have Appointed James i'-.cNease
to replace him, but Trev had all the stuff'til just recently, when he found it
and mailed it back. Following that, tbe PEk games Challenge ,Rei chska.nselrie,
and Xriegsmarine II, which have finished Revision, must be typed up and print
ed. Except for challenge, they should be ready by Jar. 10 at latest. Challenge
will be ready as soon as SPI sends us the Hex sheets we ordered in August,
PEM Games in Operation now include the last three Diplomacy games, three Halo
games, and two Reichskanzelrie. Those of you who have asked for Challenge may
wish to know that when it starts there will be six of you on the Island. h 11
current PBh games are now being processed within 46 hours after deadline. So,
by Jan 15 we should have all the regular stuff in stock and running smooth.
Then we come to our games. Poland 1939 is now in stock, we can shio same day.
Nowsville 1930: still some of the handmade in stock, new Electrostat version
ready by iniddle of Next konth. Gestapo Monopoly electrostat.s now in stock.
Obliteration II: We aren't kidding.' л:е have the j things in stock for4‘l29.95.
The future-------- Well, we have got circulation up to the point that we will
have dje cut counters in issue 5 . We will begin, with this issue, doing a few
pages on metal printing masters rather than the Itek. This costs us more, but
gives us better quality (the cover of this issue) and we can print on a reduc
tion that .^ives us about twice the word count per page. We are considering goin to a 46 page 6^x7 booklet. Problem is in trimming. Like to hear your opinion
on this. Also, we do our covers in a "suitable for framing "format . Would you
prefer (or mind) if we put a "normal" letterhead on the cover? V.e would like
to because..... JagdPanther Publications is going Retail.' Yes, first
, then
SPI, finally JP. We will be selling our issues and Poland 1939 Games begin
ning in late December.
Speaking of which, we are experimenting with i>*asonite
Board Sacking and Offset printed boards for our Hanoi Game,
kore mundane, but still needing to be mentioned, are a few other matters.

More mundane, but still needing to be mentioned, are a few other matters»
First, when you write in, try to avoid being nasty to my staff. They are serv
ing without pay, and I have enough trouble getting them without someone put
ting-- "This is for Cole, not one of his idiot flunkies" on the top line. If
you want to write me personally about some idiot fltjWKie, fine, but yell at
me,not him.
Next, we will begin writing a letter to SPI with complaints we
receive 15 J^Muary, and every 15 days thereafter. Please include name.address,
drte ordered, and specifically what is wrong and what you want done.
If you
have complaints against anyone else, tell us those i~°o. With s Bang not a
Whimper, PanzerBlitz is over as far as we are concerned, with the exception
of the Fuzzle on one of the back pages„ Vte have done everything we could and
some things we couldn’t to it. Next Project is going to be NATO, l.e will oxpflNd this to a series of simultaneously played games. We have che coloredpaper counters for issue 1 now, Д ч у one who bought issue 1 can have a set for
free if you send us a stamped envelope. We have a new Program calico CRAP
C o m b i n e d Residuals of Assorted Publications). These result when we send the
3 2 masters for a JP to the printer. We ask for 100 copies, we may get anywhere
from 110 to 150 copies of a e;iven page. Obviously, the number of the lowest
passe is how many mags we eret, but what 3 o we do with about 300 assorted loose
pages? We have been giving a few away with our Newsletters to show what kind
of quality we have, but we have built up a large backlog. We will give* then,
away to whoever wants them, if you will supply lOtf fcr an envelope and 52/0z
for postage and handling. Say how many ounces you want. You may get maps,
counters, rules, covers, articles, scenarios, who knows? W'e'd rather you got
some use out of them than throw them away.’ By the way, Trev's Old Job as
■ Adjutant is now being carried out by David Hoover, 502 5 unset,Amarillo,T x s ,
79106. If you have an idea you are afraid to lay on me, lay it on him firs»:.
Some of you have been writing me trying to get me to join games with various
• Gamemasters at the same time, hoping to get an unfair advantage. Well, if i
catch you doing this, you are going to catch Hell. Anyway, most reputable Gins
have systems to prevent this, and can you guys reallv trust each other?
I wish I had more space, but I don't. I wish I had q snappy ending, but I am
all out of those too. So, w e rll see ya’ in late JVterchJ °tephen V Colt

4 years
Our first year now draws to a
old,but Nationalization
Close. The Club is, of course, actually 11
officially began on Jan 1 of -this year. We
have, in that time, grown to over 400 members and 41 Chapters. We have
been promised by the Government that we will have our Non-Profit Organiz
ation Status by January 1, but we have learned not to count on anything
from the Government til we h/»ve i* irv our hands. We are negotiating with
severcu clubs in various areas w uring them into the fold, and we are
slowly tracking down a large pasteboard box with the last of the IFW in
it. Our constitution is at the lawyers being checked over. We will have
a summary of it in Newsletter 32 in January, and will send out copies to
the Chapters and Senators in February. Anyone else who would like to see
a copy need only request it and send us a stamp. News of local interest:
Guards Division is enlarging to enable us to handle playtesting more ef
ficiently. Loomis is running a Nuclear Destruction party. Robert Blau has
been busy, forming a new chapter in his area and offering a lot of good
ideas to us.Overseas is expanding, there is talk of splitting it into a
West and East Branch. David Staples is still trying to get North Dakota
out of the U.N. Evans is taking over 5th from Bartnikowski, who has his
hands full enough as is.Utzig and the Folar Bear Division are working on
a ’’Year of the Hobbit” Game, and playing a lot of Halocaust.Pat Carroll
wants to know why no one writes him any more. Howard is turning over 8 th
Division to Raia and going back to hi? Kommando. By the way, he Recommends
that all Chapters change to the r,ICW XX" designations. Kike Manning is
trying to find out where Pavek is, the Army keeps moving him^around. Rick
informs us he is taking Jungle and Sniper Schools, and will work as an
Assasin. We would like all of you to write a post card to at least one of
the other chapters listed. We feel getting to know each other is important.
