FEATURES SIMPLE: Stand‐alone System: It does not require any external markers, ultrasonic or infrared sensors or re ectors, cameras or special oor surfaces. EASY: Fast Calibra on: Calibra ng the X,Y co‐ordinates simply requires the pedestal to be passed over the ‘Origin Sheet’ which can be as simple as white square on the oor. The algorithms can even calculate the correct camera posi on in free‐moving crane systems, combining the posi on of the dolly and the boom angle and eleva on. THE HEART OF SHOTOKU VR Tracking The heart of the SHOTOKU VR Tracking is the “ SPI ”. The SPI, or Serial Posi oning lnterface, monitors the data from all the encoders and sensors, and using proprietary algorithms determines the absolute posi on of the camera's op cal center. The resultant data, using industry standard protocols, is sent out to the Graphics system synchronized to Video reference. Using highly accurate rota on measurements on each wheel as well as the steering angle data, The SPI is able to locate the pedestal rela ve to the origin sheet anywhere in the studio, These measurements also generate pedestal rota on data which is added to the head Pan angle to provide true Pan angle informa on. www.shotoku.tv 1
