since their Walk.

some GREEN AGAPE $$ to bless Kairos.

please remember to bring your Pilgrims to
this important meeting where they will
have the chance to share their 4th Day
experiences with the Walk Team and other Community members. We will also explain the importance of becoming involved in a Reunion or other type of Accountability Group, and will have representatives available to help get them
plugged into a group if they want to do
so.

We continue to receive outdated pilgrim and sponsor applications. Both applications have
been updated and are available on the web site at
www.gsemmaus.com.
PLEASE fill these applications out
online, then print and mail to the
registrars. We have difficulty in
reading a lot of handwritings.
Completing the forms online
then printing takes the guess
work out of trying to read the
forms.
Important Reminder:
The Emmaus Board of Directors
approved the increase in pilgrim
fees last April and this was announced at the April Community
Gathering. The increase went
into effect in August of this
year. The fee was previously
$175.00 and
has now increased to
$225.00 due to
our increased
costs.

Have you EVER sponsored a pilgrim? How long has it been
since YOU sponsored a pilgrim? Make it a goal to sponsor at
least one man and one woman this year and every year on
the Walk. This is how we spread the word of our community! It
is up to you, the ones who have been on a walk, to take the
reigns and bless someone else with the same AGAPE love
you felt on your walk. Print off some applications and invite
someone today! If you need more info, contact a board
member or check out our website. It’s TIME.

Local Emmaus Sponsor Tips













 The sponsor (Sunday School class, friends, reunion group) may considering
paying the total fee of the pilgrim as a gift of Agape.
 The sponsor brings enough Agape for the Team and Pilgrims {usually 75
pieces allowing for damage, etc.). Keep out of sight of the pilgrim.
 The sponsor brings Agape food/snacks for the Walk and Closing.
 The sponsor will meet or pick up the pilgrim for a dinner and drive to the
Walk. Family, Sunday school, Emmaus members, children, etc. may attend dinner. Please remember children cannot go to any Walk events (Unless they have been on a Chrysalis or
their Walk.)
The sponsor can explain any and all parts of the Walk without exception.
The sponsor insures all the Agape letters are provided NO later than Candlelight.
The sponsor helps the pilgrim with baggage to and from the Walk and stands with the pilgrim during registration for any questions/clarifications.
The sponsor will walk with the pilgrim to the assigned room and help in any procedure to unpack, make
a bed, etc.
An emergency number (how to contact the sponsor) should always be clarified during registration for any
type of emergency.
Reclarification of clothes, bedding, personal hygiene, pagers, phones, watches should be discussed with
the pilgrim.
No special gifts, flowers, etc. are permitted until Fourth Day events. The message of Emmaus is the God
loves each person with the same love; God does not have favorites.
There are absolutely no children at ANY Walk activities. No one should attend any Walk events unless
they have already completed their Walk (Exception is Community.)
Be on time, prompt, and listen to the instructions of the Lay Director for the Pilgrim Send Off Prayer Service and times to return to the Walk for Candlelight and Closing.
The sponsor (or anyone else) is NOT to reach out during Candlelight and touch their pilgrim.
WHEN IN DOUBT ask. Remember some traditions and past Walk activities does not guarantee it was correct.

Community should be prepared for the pilgrims to arrive at the following times:
9:30pm for Candlelight and
4:00pm for Closing.
BEHIND-THE-SCENES
TEAMS
The Behind-the-Scenes Support Team provides each
walk with a team of anonymous servants who serve in
the agape room organizing &
distributing agape, overseeing the prayer room, providing support to the conference
room team, coordinating the
Agape Snack, and helping
keep the weekend flowing
smoothly. Each team is led
by coordinators who stay for
the weekend to oversee the
support activities. Additional
team members serve the
entire weekend and pay the
walk fee, or can potentially
work shorter time periods,
come and go from home, and
pay only for meals eaten. If
you have a heart for anonymous servanthood and are
interested in being a part of a
Behind-the-Scenes Support
Team or a coordinator for
future walks, please contact

AGAPE
A Walk consists of 36 pilgrims (sometimes 37) and
Emmaus conference room
teams consist of 26 members. Please plan agape for
the pilgrims & team (65 to be
safe). Please be aware that
"copyrighted" material cannot
be duplicated and used as
Agape Gifts.� This includes
but is not limited to:� Music,
Tapes, CD's, Poems, etc.�
SPONSOR TRAINING
Remember that to sponsor
pilgrims on walks, you
must attend sponsorship
training. Sponsorship is a
great privilege and serious
responsibility that requires
commitment to not only
prepare your pilgrim for
this life-changing experience, but also to love and
support your pilgrim’s family while their loved one is
away for their weekend
with our Lord. Also, if
you’ve signed up to bring
agape to the walk, make
sure you understand exactly what you’ve signed up to
bring. If you have questions, ask experienced
community members or
those in your reunion
group who have helped
with many walks.
