Teaterhögskolan i Malmö
På Teaterhögskolan i Malmö utbildar vi skådespelare till teater, film, tv och andra
medier.
Utbildningen är treårig och antagningar sker varje år och tolv studenter antas.
Vi profilerar vår skola genom en långsiktig och konsekvent upplagd utbildning och
genom nära samverkan mellan skolans olika ämnen. Målet för utbildningen är kreativa
och självständiga skådespelare som i samarbete med andra kan svara mot de konstnärliga kraven som finns i olika sceniska sammanhang.
Den som vill bli skådespelare måste naturligtvis ha ett stort intresse för teater. Det krävs
också vilja och lust att kommunicera och förmåga att samarbeta. En skådespelare måsta
vara intresserad av människor och skaffa sig kunskap om människors livsvillkor genom
alla tider. Det är också viktigt att ha intresse för andra konstformer som litteratur, musik
och bildkonst.
Utbildningen
Under de fyra första terminerna övas basfärdigheterna och man gör de första rollarbetena. Under femte terminen är man på praktik på någon av landets teatrar. Den sjätte
terminen innehåller bl.a. kurs i film och radio samt ett examensarbete i form av en
teaterproduktion som visas offentligt.
Huvudämnet på Teaterhögskolan är scenframställning. Dessutom finns teknikämnen
som röst, tal, rörelse, sång och musik samt teori.
Inträdesproven
Antagning sker en gång om året genom praktiska prover och övningar som bedöms
av en antagningsjury. Proverna består av scener som den sökande har övat in och som
spelas upp inför juryn samt av praktiska övningar och undervisning i form av workshop. Det är många som söker till Teaterhögskolan så det är mycket viktigt att man
som sökande är väl förberedd. Mer information om hur proven är upplagda får du på

Utbildningen ger behörighet att söka ytterligare två års utbildning på masternivå.
Malmö Theatre Academy:
The three-year Acting programme at Malmö Theatre Academy trains actors for theatre, film, television and other media. The programme admits twelve students each year.
The programme is profiled by long-term structure and consistent training with close interaction
between the different subjects. The goal of the programme is to educate creative and independent actors who in partnership with others can meet the artistic requirements of various theatrical contexts.
Anyone who wants to become an actor must of course have a great interest in theatre. It also requires
willingness and desire to communicate, and the ability to cooperate. An actor has to be interested in
people and gain knowledge on conditions for the people of all times. It is also important to have an
interest in other art forms such as literature, music and visual arts.
The education:
During the first four terms, basic skills are practiced and students do the first etude works, which
means to practice various theatre pieces. The fifth term presents an opportunity for students to practice at one of the country’s top theatres. The sixth semester includes a radio and film course and a
thesis in the form of a publicly performed theatre.
The education consists largely of stage performance. Techniques, such as voice, speech, movement,
singing and music theory exist as well.
Entrance examinations:
Admission is once a year through practical tests and exercises that are evaluated by an admissions
panel. The samples consist of scenes that the applicant has rehearsed and plays before the jury, and
of practical exercises in the form of a workshop. Admission to the Malmö Theatre Academy is very
competitive so it is important that you as an applicant are well prepared. More information on how

The programme is a prerequisite for further education at the Master’s level.

Teaterhögskolan i Malmö utbildar skådespelare och dramatiker på kandidatnivå. Efter det följer
möjligheten att gå en masterutbildning i teater samt doktorandutbildning. Tillsammans med
SOL-centrum i Lund anordnas även utbildningen Teaterns teori och praktik. Teaterhögskolan i
Malmö har nära kontakter med teatrar och andra teaterutbildningar i Sverige. Sedan länge bidrar
även internationella kontakter till att forma skolans profil. Skolan har sina undervisningslokaler i
centrala Malmö och förfogar även över en modernt utrustad teater för offentliga föreställningar.
Malmö Theatre Academy trains actors and playwrights at the bachelor´s level. After this comes
the possibility to study at the master´s level in theatre and postgraduate education. Together
with the Centre for Language and Literature in Lund the school also organizes the education The
Theory and Practice of Theatre. Malmö Theatre Academy has close contacts with theatres and
other theatre colleges in Sweden. For may years our international contacts have helped to shape
the school’s profile. The school has its own teaching facilities in central Malmö and a modern
equipped theatre for public performances.
