Dramatikerutbildningen Teaterhögskolan i Malmö Dramatikerutbildningen har funnits i 15 år vid Teaterhögskolan i Malmö och utbildat några av de främsta dramatikerna i Sverige. Utbildningen har nära samarbeten med stadens rika teaterliv och lägger stor vikt vid internationella utblickar. För att bli dramatiker ska du ha en utvecklad språklig förmåga. Utbildningens undervisning består inledningsvis i huvudsak av handledning av kortare skrivuppgifter. Centrala begrepp under handledningen är handling, situation och dramatisk konflikt. Med tiden kompletteras undervisningen också med övningar i dramaturgisk struktur. Under sista terminen förväntas du kunna skapa och genomföra en pjäsidé om cirka en timme. Målet är att du efter utbildningen skall ha en praktisk och konstruktiv förmåga att pendla i perspektiv mellan den spontana kreativiteten i det dramatiska skrivandet och det strukturerade planerandet av sceniska skeenden. Vid sidan av det egna skrivandet läggs stor vikt vid läsning av både samtida och äldre dramatik, dels för att skapa inspiration och dels för att sätta det egna skrivandet i relation till traditionen. Därtill ägnas en viktig del av utbildningen till att förstå och problematisera teori kring såväl teater som konstform som andra konstyttringar. Allt för att du efter genomgången utbildning ska ha tillräckliga kunskaper och färdigheter för att självständigt lösa de konstnärliga uppgifter som dramatiker ställs inför. Utbildningen är treårig och ger behörighet att söka ytterligare två års utbildning på masternivå. The programme in scenic and dramatic writing has existed for fifteen years at Malmö Theatre Academy and has trained some of the foremost playwrights in Sweden. The programme works closely with the city’s rich theatre life and places great emphasis on international perspectives. To become a playwright, one must develop language skills, as such, the initial education consists mainly of supervision on shorter writing assignments. The key tutorial concepts explored are action, situation and dramatic conflict. With time, teaching is also supplemented with exercises in dramaturgical structure. During the last semester, you are expected to create and implement an idea for a play of about one hour. The goal is that after the education you will have a practical and constructive ability to shift perspectives between the spontaneous creativity of the dramatic writing and the structured planning of theatrical events. Alongside one’s own writing, great emphasis is put on reading both contemporary and ancient drama, partly to give inspiration and to place one’s own writing in relation to tradition. Additionally, an important part of the training is devoted to understanding and problematizing theory about both theatre as an art form as well as other modes of artistic expression. Following completion of the course, one should have sufficient knowledge and skills to independently solve the artistic tasks playwrights face. The education spans three years and may lead to further education at the Master’s level. Efter det följer möjligheten att gå en masterutbildning i teater samt doktorandutbildning. Tillsammans med SOL-centrum i Lund anordnas även utbildningen Teaterns teori och praktik. Teaterhögskolan i Malmö har nära kontakter med teatrar och andra teaterutbildningar i Sverige. Sedan länge bidrar även internationella kontakter till att forma skolans profil. Skolan har sina undervisningslokaler i centrala Malmö och förfogar även över en modernt utrustad teater för offentliga föreställningar.
