Safety Information
Review this owner’s manual and read all warning labels on the machine prior to use.
The three main safety notifications used in this manual and on the warning labels are WARNING, CAUTION
and NOTICE. They have specific meanings and indicate the potential dangers from misuse of the machine.
“WARNING!” indicates a hazardous situation, which, if not avoided,
could result in death or serious injury. These serious injuries could
include permanent loss of function or significant disfigurement, disability,
considerable pain and suffering, amputations, severe burns, and loss or
impairment of vision or hearing. Take all necessary precautions to avoid
unnecessary injury.

Safety Precaution Summary
Avoid dangerous environments. Do not use
the machine in a damp or wet environment. Keep
the work area well lit.
Machine must be properly grounded before
use; Improper grounding could cause electric
shock and injury.
Disconnect power cord before servicing,
cleaning, or removing any covers, and follow
lockout/tagout procedures in owner's manuual;
failure to disconnect power could cause electric
shock and injury.
Review owner's manual before installing or
operating.
Keep the work area clean. Cluttered areas and
benches invite accidents. To prevent accidents, be
sure all electrical cords are out of the way.
Operation
Keep Customers away. All customers should
be kept away from the work area. The machine
should be used only by properly trained individuals.
Clamp the can carefully to ensure that it is
held securely during the mixing cycle.
Do not operate without a can installed.
Maintenance
Always follow these safety precautions when
operating the Red Devil Equipment Co. 05025
Gyro Mixer:
Before operating the machine, read this
Owner's manual carefully. Learn the machine’s
applications and limitations.
Ground the machine properly. Be sure to
follow proper grounding and electrical procedures.
Avoid extension cords. To minimize the risk of
tripping the circuit breaker, improper electrical
grounding, or over-loading, extension cords are
not recommended.
Disconnect power to machine. When cleaning
the machine or doing maintenance work, always
disconnect machine from power source.
Keep the machine clean. Clean all surfaces
with a mixture of lukewarm water and mild
detergent. Avoid solvent based cleaners or
thinners.
To avoid electric shock, don’t get the timer,
control panel, or wiring wet.
Service properly. Follow the maintenance
procedures outlined in this manual. If problems
occur, contact Red Devil Equipment Co.
Use the proper power source. Refer to the
machine data plate on the right side panel. If the
machine data plate has been removed or is
unreadable, call the Red Devil Equipment Co.
Customer Service Department (see the back cover
of this owner’s manual) before connecting the
machine to a power source.

Installation
Prepare for Use
110 V UNITS
Machines rated at 110 V, 60 Hz are for use on a
nominal 120 V circuit.
Machine must be properly grounded before
use; Improper grounding could cause electric
shock and injury.
Disconnect power cord before servicing,
cleaning, or removing any covers, and follow
lockout/tagout procedures in owner's manuual;
failure to disconnect power could cause electric
shock and injury.
Review owner's manual before installing or
operating.
EXTENSION CORDS
Avoid using extension cords. If an extension cord
is unavoidable, consult a qualified electrician
to determine what type of extension cord will
satisfy the grounding, current capacity, and other
requirements of the particular situation.
IMPORTANT: Before attempting to operate the
machine:
1. Remove all packing material.
2. Position the machine on a firm, level
surface.
ELECTRICAL
CONNECTION AND GROUNDING
REQUIREMENTS
The machine MUST BE GROUNDED. If there
should be an electrical short circuit, grounding
reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an
escape wire for the electric current.
The machine’s power cord has a grounding
wire with an appropriate grounding plug. This plug
must be inserted into an electrical outlet that is
properly installed and grounded according to all
local codes and ordinances.
3. Follow the electrical connection instructions
described above.
4. Verify that the machine is level:
a. Clamp a 5 gallon pail in the machine.
b. Turn the machine on.
c. Try to slide a sheet of paper underneath
each of the four feet.

If you must repair or replace the power cord
or plug, do not connect the grounding wire to
either flat-blade terminal. The wire with insulation
having an outer surface that is green (with or
without yellow stripes) is the grounding wire.
Check with a qualified electrician if you don’t
completely understand these grounding
instructions, or if you are not sure whether the
machine is properly grounded. Do not modify the
plug provided; if it won’t fit in the outlet, have a
proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.

d. Adjust (lower) any feet under which the
paper can fit.
i. Clamp the hex riser (A) with a 1 ⅜
wrench.
ii. Loosen the locking nuts (B) about two
turns using a ¾ in. wrench.
iii. Turn the head of the foot (C) clockwise
to lower the foot until it is in full contact with
the floor.
iv. Try to slide a sheet of paper underneath
the adjusted foot to recheck the foot
adjustment while the machine is running.
v. Tighten the locking nuts (B) if the foot is
in full contact with the floor.
vi. Repeat with any additional feet that may
still need adjustment.

Operation
Control Panel
• E-Stop Push-Button (A): Only use to
immediately cut the power to the machine.
• Breaker Switch, 20-Amp (B): Turn off the
power and push the switch if the breaker trips.
• Digital Display (C): View programming
revision, cycle count, and cycle time remaining.
• Two-Minute Cycle (D): Push to set a twominute cycle, and to increase a cycle in two minute
increments.
• Three-Minute Cycle (E): Push to set a threeminute cycle, and to increase a cycle in three
minute increments.
• Stop (F): Push to stop the cycle. Any remaining
cycle time will be deleted.

Install a Pail
MIXING PROCEDURE TO INSTALL A PAINT
PAIL:
1. Open the machine door.
Pull the red ratchet lever (A) toward you
and turn the handle on the top of clamp (B)
counterclockwise to raise the plate.
2. Slide the pail under the clamping (top) plate (C).
3. Position the pail in the grooves on the bottom
plate (D). The grooves on the plate keep the pail in
place during mixing.
4. Lower the clamping plate (B) by turning the
handle clockwise. Once the plate makes contact
with the pail, tighten another 1/4 turn.
5. Secure the bail of the pail with the bail spring.
6. Close the door and start the machine.
NOTICE A safety interlock prevents machine
operation if the door is open.
NOTICE
If the bail spring wasn’t properly
secured, press the EMERGENCY STOP button on
the control panel.

MOVING PARTS INSIDE
Do not open the door until the machine comes to
a complete stop; moving parts inside could cause
serious injury.
TO REMOVE THE PAINT PAIL:
1. Raise the clamp all the way to the top by
holding the ratchet lever open while turning the
crank handle counter-clockwise.
2. Unfasten the bail spring.
3. Remove the pail:
Metal Pails: Grab pail handle and pull forward,
allowing the base of the pail to leverage itself off
of the strike plate near the roller. Pull the handle to
remove the pail from machine.
lastic Pails: Lift the pail by the lip with both hands

and pull it toward you, being careful to keep the
bottom from catching on the strike plate.

Cleaning
Maintenance Schedule
Always unplug the power cord before
cleaning!
Always unplug the power cord before
performing maintenance tasks!
CLEANING:
Keeping the machine clean is important for reliable
operation. Colorant or base paint spilled on
machine surfaces can be removed using lukewarm
water and mild detergent for water-based/glycol
colorants. To preserve the appearance of the
machine, do not use abrasives to clean machine
surfaces.
LUBRICATION:
Speed Reducer
Maintenance not required. If oil change is
necessary due to debris build-up:
1. Remove oil drain plug on bottom side of
machine and drain oil from gearbox.
2. Remove the oil level plug and fill only up to that
level: with Mobil SHC 634 Synthetic oil.Do not
overfill or underfill.
Clamp
Lubricate the clamping screw threads and thrust
bearing as needed with 3-in-1 oil.
Ratchet Lever
Lubricate the shaft as needed with 3-in-1 oil.

Always indicate the Model and Serial numbers of the machine when ordering replacement parts.
GENERAL PARTS REPLACEMENT POLICIES
While your machine is under warranty, do not attempt on-site repair or parts replacement without first
contacting Red Devil Equipment Co. (to protect your warranty). After the warranty expires, replacement parts
and recommendations for on-site servicing are available from Red Devil Equipment Co. Please Customer
Service for assistance.
RESTOCKING FEE

Warranty
Equipment Covered Under This Warranty:
Model 05025
Warranty
Red Devil Equipment Co. warrants equipment manufactured by it and bearing its name to be free from defects
in material and workmanship.
Red Devil Equipment Co. will provide replacement parts caused by failure due to production or manufacturing
error for a period of two years. Costs of labor and transportation for service of machines under this warranty
will also be covered during the warranty period. Normal ground freight will be covered for replacement parts
sent within the warranty period. UPS Ground or common carrier ground freight will be covered for the return of
defective items only.
This warranty applies only when the equipment is installed, operated, and maintained in accordance with
written Red Devil Equipment Co. instructions as appearing in the owners' manuals.
This warranty does not cover, and Red Devil Equipment Co. shall not be liable for, any malfunction, damage,
or wear caused by faulty installation, misapplication, abrasion, corrosion, inadequate or improper maintenance,
negligence, accident, tampering, or substitution of non-red Devil Equipment Co. component parts, modification
or use for non-intended purposes. Nor shall Red Devil Equipment Co. be liable for malfunction, damage,
or wear caused by the incompatibility with Red Devil equipment Co. equipment of structures, accessories,
equipment, or materials not supplied by Red Devil Equipment Co.
Disclaimers and Limitations
The terms of this warranty constitute purchaser;s sole and exclusive remedy and are in lieu of any other
warranties, express or implied. In no case shall Red Devil Equipment Co.'s liability exceed the amount of
the purchase price. *All warranty repairs must be executed by a Red Devil Equipment Co. Authorized
Service Center or warranty will be voided.
