Westfield A player Matt McIntyre, No. 19, scores his second touchdown of the game as Westfield defeats Morristown 14-8 WF PAL A Gridders Notch Win over Mo-Town, 14-8 The Westfield PAL A football team notched it first win of the season, beating the Morristown Wildcats 148 at Gary Kehler Stadium on October 5. Early on, Michael Fuccillo picked off a Morristown pass at midfield and returned it to the Morristown 23-yard line. Matt McIntyre ran the ball three times, scoring a touchdown from 18 yards out. The conversion failed. In the second quarter, with Morristown punting from deep in its own end, the punter muffed the snap and Tucker Siegal tackled him on the one-yard line. After a penalty and a few plays, facing a fourth-and-goal from the two, quarterback Aidan Gilman threw a screen pass to Matt McIntyre for the touchdown. Thomas DeRosa split the uprights for the conversion and Westfield led 14-0 at the half. Westfield’s defense held Morristown scoreless in the first half due to key tackles by Koury Kania, DeRosa, Thomas Norris, Marquise Ellerbe, Griffin Aslanian and McIntyre. Emmett Smith, Adam Perry and Ethan Wolf contributed from the secondary. Morristown added a fourth quarter touchdown and had one more chance with only seconds left, but Ethan Wolf intercepted a deep pass as time expired.
