BSocSc Sociology What you will study

BSocSc Sociology
What you will study
This document gives you a flavour of what you might study in Sociology at Manchester.
Each year of your degree you need to take units that add up to 120 credits.
Each unit is made up of 10 or 20 credits. This reflects the amount of work involved, so for every
one credit you should do approximately 10 hours of work (eg lectures, tutorials, office hours and
independent study).
Each of the course units below has pre-requisites – other course units which you need to have
taken the year before. You can find information about these by clicking on the particular course
unit information pages.
The actual units taught will depend on the availability of staff.
