C.I.A. is a fun way to learn about God's love and experience the Bible through stories and activities. Grades K-5 meet from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, followed by dinner from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Parents are welcome to join their kids for dinner. Recent findings from the Tufts University 4-H Study of Positive Youth Development indicate when compared to their peers, young people in 4-H are nearly four times more likely to contribute to their communities, two times more likely to pursue healthy behaviors and two times more likely to engage in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs in out-of-school time. The 4-H program in Iowa is an essential part of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, a partnership between Iowa’s land-grant university and the United States Department of Agriculture. In Dallas County, nearly 320 4-H club youth (4-12 grade), more than 100 Clover Kids (K-3 grade) and approximately 100 volunteers from the community are involved in 4-H. Every year 4-H members have the opportunity to participate in the Dallas County Fair, Iowa State Fair, Communications Day, Clothing Day, project and robotics workshops, community service events and club activities. New to Dallas County 4-H is the addition of a Shooting Sports Club.
