Google Classroom – Version 1.0 and Beyond!
Session 3, Room 159
Jim Frye; Upper Sandusky
Classroom is a new tool in Google Apps for Education that helps
teachers create and organize assignments quickly, provide
feedback efficiently, and communicate with their classes with
ease. Classroom was designed hand-in-hand with teachers to
help them save time, keep classes organized, and improve
communication with students. Classroom weaves together
Google Docs, Drive and Gmail to help teachers create and organize assignments quickly, provide feedback efficiently, and
communicate with their classes with ease. And it lets students
organize their work, complete and turn it in, and communicate
directly with their teachers and peers.
Google Play for Education
Session 3, Room 157
Mindy Newell; USEVS
Want to learn how to integrate Google Play for Education? It is
an extension of Google Play designed for schools. You will
discover apps approved by teachers for teachers, you will learn
how to search for approved apps by grade, subject and standard,
including Common Core, and you will learn how to pay using a
purchase order, and deploy the content to students instantly. I
will provide a link for my FREE accountability sheets to guide
student learning for a variety of apps.
Good Digital Citizenship on the Web: How Can
You Control It?
Session 1, Room 157
Glenn Mitchell; Extreme Networks
As school districts continue to improve their BYOD and 1:1
programs, a critical piece is effectively executing policy around
Internet / application access, and Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
that will be allowed based on students’ devices, location, grade,
and most importantly, are they good digital citizens? As administrations deal with the ongoing cyberbullying problem, this only
exacerbates the challenges. Learn how technology can be
leveraged to provide students more and less access to the Internet as they pass online Internet citizenship tests or can be
quickly restricted because of bad behavior.
Health, Technology and Community – Engaging
Students in Citizenship & Collaboration
Session 2, Room 166
Jodi Zeigler, Michel Bechstein; Bowling Green
This collaborative student project was designed to promote citizenship while also demonstrating how to live a more healthy lifestyle.
Overall the students sold over 150 shirts (which they designed)
to help benefit the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department. The technology aspect included using Microsoft Publisher,
Google Forms, Docs and Sheets, tagul.com, and a few others.
We will explain how putting together a collaborative project is easy
to manage using tools like Google Docs and how student engagement is increased through authentic learning and how it is easy
to make the connection between seemingly different curriculums.

satisfy those needs and improve overall communications to all
users through mobility and presence applications.
