PANTRY CORNER
The Mother Theresa’s Hands and Hearts Ministry
at St. Dominic Catholic Church is temporarily closed
as it is in the process of being relocated.
Thank you for all your donations & support.
ANSWER TO LAST WEEK’S QUESTION: When
and where was the term “Catholic” first used? The ter m
“Catholic” was first used by St. Ignatius of Antioch by the
year 110 CE. “Catholic”, which means “universal”, and St.
Ignatius meant to convey the truth that Christ came for all
people not just the Jewish people.
LAITY ENGAGING LAITY (LEL)
Need a break from the busy pace of life? Need a better focus
in your prayer life? LEL can help. LEL is a Diocesan lay
organization focused on personal transformation and spiritual
growth through monthly mini-retreats. The 2014 LEL theme
based on Song 2:10, is: “Arise My Beloved: A Call To
Relationship With Jesus”. The focus is on a life-giving
relationship with Jesus and others, and what that looks like.
The next retreat will be “Arise in Jesus’ Teaching on
Serving” on Saturday, October 18th from 9:00 am to
Noon, at Corpus Christi Parish Hall. Contact Rhonda
Bush at the Diocese (636-2345) if you have any questions.
THE MARIAN HOUSE is in need of coffee cups—any
kind. If you have miss-matched coffee cups you would like
to donate, “we would love to have them.” They also need
dried beans. Please leave donations in the usual place near
the Adoration Chapel.
