warren w. “bill” revels, 86, st.
Joseph, died Thursday, October 2, 2014
at a local healthcare facility.
he was born June 14, 1928 to Jewel
and leila (hixon) revels in atchison,
Ks. bill married Marge ann Meng on
February 9, 1968. she survives of the
home.
he proudly served in the u.s. navy
during world war ii. bill worked for
40 years as a sheet metal worker and
retired from hausman Metal works. he
belonged to local #2, and was a member of american legion, vFw and
lions club.
bill was an excellent wood worker. he
enjoyed boating, fishing and was passionate about his fantasy football
teams.
he was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Jeb cossey.
survivors: wife of 46 years, Marge;
children, brenda Miller (rick), david
bruce (anita), Kimberly cossey and
wesley revels (Mary beth); five
grandchildren, Kayla de la paz
(Jorge), Jennifer cossey, Michael
Miller, daniel cassity and easton
bruce; 4 great-grandchildren, Madison
browning, Jaxon Miller, Macie de la
paz and Josiah de la paz; and his best
buddy, sam.

Jacqueline June rice 81, of savannah,
MO, passed away Thursday, October 2,
2014 in a savannah health care center.
she was born October 20, 1932 in
butler, MO, daughter of angeline and
Omer Mcdaniel. she graduated from
high school, and was a homemaker also
working at noma lites, h.d lee and
the stetson hat co.she enjoyed square

dancing, and was a member of
savannah united Methodist church.
Jacqueline was preceded in death by
husband, James calvin rice, her parents, daughter, Judy bunse, brother,
John Mcdaniel, and an infant sister.
survivors include daughter, Jody
(robert) steinman of savannah, MO; 4
grandchildren: holly (Jason) Keller,
brian (cindy) spangler, Jennifer
(brian) parks, and Travis (rachael)
bunse, and 6 great grandchildren.

in several nursing homes. he was a

Joseph l. Toombs, 93, of st. Joseph,
passed away wednesday, October 1,
2014 at carriage square health care
center.
J.l. was born on november 17, 1920
in darlington, MO, son of loren and
lucy (Thompson) Toombs.
J.l. graduated from darlington high
school. he then served in the army air
corps during world war ii. he worked
as an appliance repairman for sears.
after his retirement, he continued to
work in the appliance repair business.
he was a member of the sears’
retiree’s club and strong Tower
church.
he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marja roberts and
lily lane.
J.l. married Joy elizabeth weatherd
on March 31, 1944 in Troy, Ks. she
survives of the home.
additional surviving family includes
daughter, linda (dean) Fleshman,
sons, ronald (Kathy) and randy
(sharon) Toombs; 7 grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren, and brothers,
billy and Marvin Toombs.

hannah catherine violett, 88, of st.
Joseph, passed away Thursday,
september 25, 2014 at a local hospital.
hannah was born January 5, 1926 to
Ferris and Mary (graham) wolfe in st.
Joseph, where she resided her entire
life. she was a graduate of central
high school and a homemaker. On
July 27, 1946 she married clarence
“ducky” violett, who passed away
January 6, 1992. hannah and clarence
were charter members of community
christian church where she served as
past president for 17 years of willing
workers women’s Fellowship. she was
also active in her children’s pTa and
booster club’s during their youth.
hannah’s hobbies included crafting,
ceramics, sewing and was also an avid
bell collector.
she was preceded in death by her parents; her husband clarence “ducky”;
four brothers, raymond, sam, robert
and richard wolfe; four sisters,
Marthetta, rebecca, Mary and
elizabeth and two granddaughters,
gina dugan and wendy withrow.
survivors include four children and
their spouses, Mike (caroleen) violett,

Mr. wykert served in the u.s. army.
he had farmed in the amazonia area.
he was a member of the amazonia
lions club and former Mason and
shrine member.
