BTI Service Access 805
High-performance Carrier Ethernet business
services and 4G/LTE mobile backhaul switch
Flexible and Reliable Services Platform
The BTI Service Access 805 is an ultra-compact platform that delivers
high-performance connectivity for Ethernet business services, cloud
services and mobile backhaul applications. The low power, temperature-resilient platform is ideal for deployment at wireless tower
sites or business customer premises. The BTI Service Access 805
allows service providers to offer price competitive and high performance 10GE access services while reducing operational costs and
management complexity.
The BTI Service Access 805 boasts a 40 Gbps switching fabric and
provides comprehensive Ethernet services demarcation, classification,
traffic management, prioritization, aggregation and service interworking functions. The platform supports G.8032v2 sub-50ms ring
protection, with laddered rings and multiple instances for ultimate
reliability and flexibility.
Standards-Based Multiservice Delivery
BTI’s Service Access 805 supports industry-standard Metro Ethernet
Forum (MEF) Carrier Ethernet (CE) 2.0 service types for high-capacity
Ethernet business services and mobile backhaul applications. Tightly
integrated with the BTI 7000/7800 Series, the BTI Service Access 805
serves as the Ethernet metro service access component of a complete
end-to-end packet optical networking solution, enabling a costeffective and seamless path to high-performance Ethernet services.
The platform leverages dedicated hardware for 1588v2 clock recovery,
providing 1 pulse per second (1PPS) and time-of-day (ToD) GPS
minimum recommended data sentence (GPRMC) outputs for phase
and clock synchronization in mobile backhaul applications.
Features and benefits
»» Ultra compact, low power and temperature-resilient
design, ready for tower or CPE deployment, delivers high
performance and reduces operational cost
»» Flexible 4x GE/10GE multi-rate SFP+ ports so you can pay-asyou-grow
»» G.8031 and G.8032v2 ring protection ensures high reliability
with sub-50ms protection switching performance
»» MEF CE 2.0 compliant services: E-Line and E-LAN
Comprehensive Provisioning, Monitoring and
Management
»» Comprehensive fault management and performance
monitoring with Y.1731 OAM, loopback, link trace, delay,
jitter and loss measurement
The BTI Service Access 805 supports in-band and out-of-band SNMP
management as well as a command line interface (CLI) for configuration, monitoring, and control functions. The platform features
hardware accelerated, industry-standard Y.1731 performance
monitoring for measuring key service performance metrics including
latency, jitter, and frame loss. Built in RFC2544 test methodology and
Y.1564 service activation test help accelerate service turn up. BTI’s
proNX Control Software and BTI proNX SLA Portal provide easy-touse graphical user interfaces (GUIs) that simplify operations, accelerate
service velocity, and optimize quality of experience (QoE) with end-toend service provisioning and service level agreement monitoring.
»» Built in RFC2544 and Y.1564 test capabilities
»» Synchronization source derived from SyncE Ethernet
interfaces or 1588v2 slave clock
»» Fully integrated into BTI’s proNX control software and cloudbased SLA portal
