WELCOME TO EfB KIA ELITE CUP
EfB Kia Elite Cup is a high level tournament of youth football, where only the
best Danish and carefully selected international clubs are invited to participate. This ensures that all the matches in the tournament will be played at
an international level.
An international youth tournament in Esbjerg has for several years been
a goal for Esbjerg fB and for me personally. Now that it has finally been
achieved, I owe a debt of gratitude to the many volunteers who have spent
many hours arranging this tournament.
I am proud that it has been possible to organize an international tournament
where teams will be represented from all over Europe right from the Slovenian MFK Dubnica to the Latvian Skonto FC and on to the Dutch FC Twente.
Such a broad-based tournament provides youth football at the highest level,
and I would like to give a special thanks to the foreign teams who have travelled to Esbjerg in order to compete in EfB Kia Elite Cup.
I hope that the participants will have a good time in the tournament and will
use the opportunity to see the city of Esbjerg. I urge, that the clubs will use
the possibility to strengthen their networks and create new bonds between
the clubs, just as we have done through our participation in the Europa
League. This has put Esbjerg fB on the world map, and it has given us many
new relationships. One of our new relationships is FC Groningen, who in EfB
Kia Elite Cup is represented in the U13, U14 and U15.
Finally, I would like to thank Kia and Burgaard Sørensen who, along with our
other sponsors, have made it possible to host an international youth tournament in Esbjerg.

TOURNAMENT OFFICE
There will during the whole tournament be people available on either the
school or in the clubhouse – there will be signs showing the way.
There will be updatet results all the time, and if you have any questions
regarding the tournament, you are always welcome to drop by for a chat.
Wednesday the tournament office is only located on the school at the main
entrance were all the teams are checking in, however there will be people in
the clubhouse at the result service.

Esbjerg fB Kia Elite Cup.
Any complaints regarding the tournament, matches, results, players or referees must be given in writing to the tournament management within 1 hour
after the match have ended.
This year with 48 elite teams participating, from 7 countries, 950 players,
more than 120 trainers/staffmembers, and hopefully with a lot of supporters to watch all the exciting matches that is going to be played on the fields
around Gl. Vardevej 88 in Esbjerg.
HISTORY
2013 was the tournaments first year, and with 13 high level teams represented in U13 and U14.
The main focus was to start up an international tournament, with teams represented from several different countries, to play matches on a high international level, and last to offer as good food and conditions for the players
as possible.

TOURNAMENT RULES
There will be played according to the rules of DBU.
U13 is born in 2001, are playing 11 vs 11 (2 x 30 min) ball size 4
U14 is born in 2000, are playing 11 vs 11 (2 x 30 min) ball size 4
U15 is born in 1999, are playing 11 vs 11 (2 x 30 min) ball size 5
Matches are played in 4 groups of 4 teams. No. 1 in each group will advance
to play for positions 1-4. No. 2 in each group will play final matches for positions 5-8, etc.
Ranking in the group placement is decided by:
1. Most points
2. Goal difference
3. Most scored goals
4. Winner of match/matches between the concerning teams
5. Draw
In semi-final matches for position 1-4 with the scores equal after normal
time, the match will be decided by golden goal (the team that scores the
first goal is the winner). Extra time is set at 2 x 10 minutes. If there are no
goals in the extra time the teams will go to a penalty shootout. Knock-out
matches for positions 5-16 with the scores equal after normal time will go
straight to a penalty shootout.
Each team is allowed free substitutions in every match.
A player substituted off the field is allowed back in the game.
A yellow card will be a 10 minute dismissal from the field.
A red card will be a dismissal for the remainder of the game.
Suspension is determined by the tournament committee.
There will be prizes for the 2 best teams in each age group, 20 prizes per
team.

after the Schleswig wars. Esbjerg Harbour was then hastily established, the

and later wind energy came. Today Esbjerg is Denmark’s undisputed energy
metropolis.

During the tournament we have made an arrangement with EmCare who
is the health team from our Superliga team. There will be possibility to get
some medical treatment during the tournament, if injuries should appear on
your team.
Idrætsskadeklinikken
Tilbyder specialiseret behandling og genoptræning af idrætsskader
og andre bevægeapparatsproblemer.
Vi er et team af fysioterapeuter, idrætsmassører, osteopater, kostvejledere og
fysiske trænere. Alle behandlere arbejder med hver deres speciale og har alle
erfaring fra elitesport og- eller mange års klinikerfaring.
Vi tilbyder bl.a.
• Undersøgelse og behandling af idrætsskader.
• Undersøgelse og behandling af bevægeapparatsskader i ryg, nakke og bækken.
• Ultralydscanning.
• Shockbølgeterapi, Ultralyd, Laser og EMT behandling.
• Genoptræning og behandling med El-stimulation (NMES).
• Vi har et stort udvalg af bandager og individuelt tilpassede såler mm.
The health team is presented by EmCare, and will be located during the
tournament next to field 4, and in the evenings on the school were the
accommodation is.
The health care during the tournament contains 2 physiotherapists and all
their equipment, ice and taping if necessary, and is free of charge for all the
players during the tournament.
