RHS Daily Planner Error
As a reminder, there is an error in the 2014-2015 RHS Planner. The online calendar on the RHS home page is
correct.
On Monday, October 20th the planner reads “No School for Students”. This is not correct.
WE DO HAVE SCHOOL ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 20TH.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused in your planning.
Class of 2015 Senior Class Party
ButterBraid Pastry Roll Sales: Now through 10/28 - Order Form and Product Description can be found on the
website at: http://2015rhsseniors.weebly.com/fundraising.html Seniors have the opportunity to receive extra
raffle tickets - see website for details.
Do you have a great idea for this year’s Senior Party theme? Theme Selection meeting - Tuesday 10/21 at 7:00 in

ExCEL Award
If you are interested in your son or daughter applying for the Excel Award have them stop in the athletic office
for an application. Deadline to apply is Tuesday, November 25th. The criteria is as follows:
To be eligible for the ExCEL Award, students must:
1. be a junior in high school
2. make satisfactory progress toward graduation requirements
3. participate in a League-sponsored fine arts and/or athletic activity
4. hold a leadership position in their school
5. work voluntarily in their community (4)
Pink Out
All pink out shirts purchased at RHS lunches or online will be available for pick up starting on Monday Oct 13th
during lunch OR before/after school in room N25. Shirts ordered by middle school students will be available at
their respective schools starting Tuesday Oct 14th.
Last chance pick up for any remaining shirts will be at the game Wed night.

ATHLETICS
Girls Swimming and Diving
Congrats on winning and defending the True Team Section title on Saturday. Rosemount dominated many
events, easily capturing the title over runner-up East Ridge by 23 pts. LAST HOME MEET & SENIOR NIGHT
Tuesday 10/14 @ 6pm.
Gymnastics
Attention gymnasts! Please attend an information meeting if you are interested in competing high school
gymnastics. Wednesday, October 15 after school in Rm 228. (1)
Nordic Ski Team
All students grades 7-12 interested in Nordic skiing must attend the introductory meeting Sunday, October 26 at
EVHS, rm 250 at 6:30pm with a parent. No experience needed! Returning skiers meet at 7:30pm, parents go to
rm 350. (4)
Boys Lacrosse
The Fall Boys Lax meeting is Oct. 28th at 7pm at RHS.
The Boys Lacrosse Booster Club is meeting Tuesday Night October 14th at 7:00 pm in the 1st Floor Staff lounge
at RHS. All parents are welcomed to attend. (1)
ARTS, ACTIVITIES AND CLUBS
Marching Band
Congratulations to the RHS Marching Band on winning their 9th consecutive Minnesota State Marching Band
Championship. The band also received the Outstanding Color Guard, Outstanding Hornline, and Outstanding
Drum Major awards. Senior members Tony Hanto and Kari Felland were awarded "Youth In Music
Scholarships" based on essays they wrote in their scholarship applications.
The band will travel to St. Louis, MO on Friday to compete in the Bands of America Super Regional. This two day
event will feature 64 bands from 13 states.
Debate
UofM Results: Laura Rietveld and Andrew Sauvageau placed 2nd in JV policy debate and were 2nd and 4th
speakers. Ezekiel Town placed 3rd. In novice policy, Jacob Ahner and Mike Stefanko placed 8th. Mike was 9th
speaker
Lakeville North Results: Justin Myrah was undefeated and placed 3rd in novice Lincoln-Douglas debate.
William Lai was 6th in JV L-D. Aleezeh Hasan and Asmaa Gass finished with winning records
Diversity Club
Interest Meeting on Tuesday, October 14th at 7:10am in Room 120 or 2:30pm in Room 125. Come find out more
about this new and exciting club.
Mountain Bike Team
In the 3rd race of their season, Tyler Gonzales and Jarod Totman placed 26th and 44th while Max Johnson
fought to a 30th place finish. Rosemount is now in 27th place out of 34 teams competing in the league. (1)
Speech
Interested in being part of a winning team and polishing skills colleges and employers love? Join the speech
team! Category placement auditions are October 14 and 15, after school, in room 120. Pick up audition
materials and sign up for an audition time in room 305 (1)
