But with you is found forgiveness, O God of Israel. The Faith Formation Program is dedicated to the children’s Faith education and at the same time, our priority is to keep every child safe. Once they are on the church grounds, your children become our responsibility and we take their safety seriously! Therefore, over a period of two class days, we reviewed and then practiced emergency procedures. The children and catechists, while at St. Anthony’s know exactly what to do in case of several kinds of emergencies. We will run a drill again when the children come back from Christmas break. This will help keep safety preparedness fresh in everyone’s minds. The 6th Grade Family Mass will be Sunday, October 26th at 9:00 am. The students will be doing the readings, the Prayers of the Faithful and bringing up the Gifts as well as the donations to the charity they have chosen. Anointing Mass—Ever wonder who should receive the Anointing Sacrament? The Anointing of the Sick is not a sacrament for only those who are at the point of death. As soon as anyone of the faithful begins to be in danger of death from serious or chronic physical or emotional illness, or who struggles with the infirmities of age, the time for the person to receive the sacrament has arrived. Please join us for the Healing Mass next Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the 11:00 am Mass. Altar Servers Needed—Our parish is in need of additional Altar Servers for all Masses. This is a great opportunity for boys and girls 3rd grade and older to participate in a special way at Mass. Servers must have received their First Holy Communion. Confirmation candidates will receive parish service hour credit for serving at Masses. Training for new Altar Servers will be conducted in late October and November and new Servers will start serving in November. Anyone who is interested can contact Brian Barr at 382-9033 or [email protected] or leave your name and contact information at the rectory. But something more is required—the wedding garment. Saints Augustine and Gregory say it is more than Baptism that gets us into the Church or the sacramental life but it is the love of God and neighbor with which we live the Christian life. The Jewish leaders are not the only ones who are required to be open to God’s call, but all of us have the same requirement—to actively love God and neighbor, to put our union with Jesus into practice. ~ Fr.
