IIEE – CDO CHAPTER CONVENTION
2nd Technical Seminar and Plant-eco Tour
Gearing towards a better and improved activity of the chapter, the Institute of Integrated
Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. – Cagayan de Oro Chapter (IIEE – CDO) has conducted a
“Chapter Convention” last July 11 – 12, 2014 at Grand Caprice Restaurant, Limketkai Center, Cagayan
de Oro City. This activity was truly a milestone for the IIEE because this is the very 1st in the history of
IIEE. The convention was participated by more than 150 active members of IIEE – CDO Chapter and
some nearby chapters, which was again another milestone in the history of IIEE – CDO for the very 1st
chapter activity to have more than 150 participants.
Registration (Day 1)
The whole 1st day activity started with a Plant Tour at Bubunawan Hydro Power Plant. It was
a great tour since this Power Plant has previously a victim of the Typhoon Sendong. The participants
were been oriented on the operations of the plant as well as how they have stand after the big typhoon
Sendong. It was a great experience for the participants to have seen how the power plant has
recovered from the devastation of the typhoon. Below are some pictures for documentation during the

After the Plant Tour the group proceeds to the very beautiful Ultra Winds Mountain Resort for
the Eco-tour. In this place the participants are able to relax and enjoy nature and the scenery from the

On the second day of the activity Opening Ceremony, Technical Seminar, and Fellowship Night
takes place. The opening ceremony started at exactly 9:00am in the morning with the Processional
March of the IIEE Chapter Officers and dignitaries followed by a Prayer, Philippine National Anthem,
IIEE – Hymn, and the reading of the IIEE Mission and Vision. After the reading Engr. Ricky M. Salon,
IIEE – CDO Chapter President, welcomes all the participants, sponsors, and guest for participating in
the very 1st IIEE – CDO Chapter Convention. He deeply emphasized that the chapter is making a
history for continuously improving its services towards its members by introducing something new in
every activity while continuously being abreast with the recent trend of the electrical engineering
profession. After the welcome the crowed was energized with welcome intermission number of LJ’s
dance group were the sexy ladies dances in the tune of the latest dance hits. After the energizing
number, a more informative and fruitful technical topics was discussed by four (4) experts in the
different field of electrical engineering. These technical topics include:

After the Technical Sessions and giving of Certificate of Participation to the participants, it’s now time
celebrate for success of the convention. Thus, the Fellowship Night was celebrated to happily end the event.
During the fellowship night Fun, Surprises, and Overflowing Foods and Drinks was enjoyed by the participants. It
was really a night of building friendship and camaraderie to each members of IIEE – CDO chapter as well as
