STATENS
SCENEKUNSTSKOLE –
EFTERUDDANNELSEN
PROGRAM 2014
The art of looking out...
The Danish National School of Performing Arts – Continuing Education is always
engaged in new processes, new working relations, and new ways of cooperation.
We facilitate exchange of experiences and learning processes, among other things
through identification of similarities and differences; just by looking at each other
we see our own strengths and weaknesses. The encounter between colleagues
from different countries and cultures offers artistic motivation and sources of
information, professionally as well as personally.
Continuing Education feels it as an obligation to extend this circle of relations
and create networks in other parts of the world, in order to challenge apparent
possibilities of establishing working relations and to broaden the horizon of Danish
performing artists and future partners.
Following up on our 2013 activities we have invited some of our Tunisian colleagues
to Denmark to participate in our symposium in April, examining the concept of Truth
and Dare. In June we welcome Nordic participants who have a desire for new ways
of creating to Aalborg and the symposium ‘New Communities’. In January we work
with French colleagues in Paris and finally we invite international artists to
‘Fieldworks’ – three amazing workshops in the Icelandic nature.
The Danish National School of Performing Arts has received funding for two research
projects and we are happy to be a small part of them. One project is about art and
censorship based on a true Chinese story.
Performing artists throughout the world struggles to obtain full freedom of speech,
and we must support this struggle through mutual dialogue and cooperation.

TRUTH & DARE
A symposium examining the concept of truth & dares in
contemporary performing art practice.
2
Could the social game of truth or dare be an analogy and
first prototype for what ‘modern social play’ performance
art seeks to investigate today?
What is truth?
And what are we willing to dare?
The participants will work concretely and creatively
with exciting new expressions and working methods
within postdramatic and postspectacular theatre and
dance – challenging the theme, themselves and the
performing arts.

THEATER AND GLOBALIZATION –
what is the role of theatre in a
globalized world?
DRAMATURGEN I NORDISK
SCENEKUNST 2014
According to scholar and playwright Dan
Rebellato´s book Theatre & Globalization,
theater has a significant part to play in
comprehending the phenomenon of
globalization. Following Dan Rebellato there
will be 3 presentations which puts the ideas
into perspective – Søren Møller on music
theatre, Kirsten Dehlholm on visual theater
and Theater Grob on text-based drama.
Hvilken rolle spiller dramaturgen i udviklingen
af scenekunsten i forhold til globalisering,
digitalisering og kollektive processer.
Hvilke udfordringer giver det?
Hvilke kompetencer kræves der af
dramaturgen?
Med en række aktiviteter sætter Foreningen
af Danske Dramaturger fokus på, hvor
dramaturgen er henne i samtidens
scenekunst.
