THOUGHTS FROM THE PRESIDENT OF
OAK SPOKES — GERALD BLACKWELL
September started off with a GREAT turnout for our tour and picnic. We had about 22 cars and 45+ people attend. We started out
from Sutherlands parking lot and drove to Hinkleville to view Bill
& Jan Hinkle’s antique collection. They have about every thing
you can think of. Bill has downsized a lot, but there is still a lot to
see. Bill gave a great talk about his pool table and trains. He then
turned us loose to wander around Hinkleville as we wanted.
Thanks Bill & Jan for letting us share your collection.
We then drove to my house to see my small collection of car stuff.
We lost a few members along the way due to being lost and car
problems. Bryan Clark played the part of rescue man. Thanks
Bryan! We then drove to my “SHED HOUSE” to view my display
of STUFF. LOTS smaller than Bill’s.
We then drove to the Clarks’ home for hamburgers, hotdogs, and
wonderful side dishes and desserts. What a great way to spend
Labor Day. A great big thank you to the Clarks for hosting this
picnic.
Congratulations to Dale Sargent on winning a People’s Choice
award at the Wild West Ford Club’s car show at the Bunkhouse
Bar, and to Dr. Babson for winning an award at the Children’s Miracle Network car show.
Our October meeting will be held at the Bunkhouse Bar on October 1st. We will meet at Little America at 5:30 pm and plan to
leave about 6:00 pm and drive to the Bunkhouse for our dinner and
meeting. Order off the menu. We invite our fellow car friends
from Laramie to please join us and they can have their meeting
along with us.
Ann requests that if any of you have any TABS, please bring them
to this meeting.
Hope to see you at this meeting and remember to DRIVE SAFE.
. . . . . . Gerald
