The federal government is a great resource for anyone in search of cost-effective solutions to cover college expenses. They do this in the form of grants, work-study and student loans and most students qualify for these regardless of family income. In addition, many scholarship eligibility requirements include completion of the FAFSA. • The FAFSA (free application for federal student aid) is used to determine the financial aid package you’ll be offered by the schools you are considering. The first step: complete the FAFSA as soon after January 1st as possible at fafsa.ed.gov.
