Farley Fox Trot
PTO Town Hall – Farley Library
The Fox Trot is Farley PTO’s largest annual fundraiser of the year. The
Fox Trot is a school carnival packed with fun activities for all families.
The money raised is used to provide resources needed for our
student’s academic success. This year the Fox Trot will be held on
Friday, November 7th. We had our first meeting to discuss Fox Trot
plans last Tuesday evening. We would like to thank everyone who
was able to attend, and to those who have volunteered to help. The
Fox Trot committee will plan to meet briefly following the Town Hall
Meeting on October 7th. It takes a huge team of volunteers to
make it a success each year and we would love to hear your ideas.
Please be on the lookout for wristband and food order forms, along
with the prices for advance order and at the door. If you have
questions or would like to be added to the volunteer list please
contact Cat St. John, Amanda Fenton, or Lesley Harrison. Thank you
for your continued support.

Halloween Parade and Parties
October 31st is on the way and
we are looking forward to
another great afternoon of
fun! The parade begins at
2:15pm and we encourage parents to come watch. We march
from the front doors, along the front of the school, through the
gym out to the playground and then we end the parade in the
classrooms and begin the parties. Please send your student to
school with their costume in a bag and make sure it can be put
on easily. Do NOT send weapons as part of their costumes. We ask
that parents stay outside of the school until after the parade
unless you have been contacted by a room parent and have
items to drop off for the parties. We hope everyone has a fun and
safe Halloween!
Sending Money to School
When sending money to the school for any
reason, please make sure to include a
detailed note regarding how the money is to
be used. There are many families at Farley
with more than one student and we want to
make sure your funds are placed where you
intend. It is imperative that you include your student’s full name
and teacher’s name. Please include a note that states what the
money is for and how much will go to each student. For example:
a $50 check addressed to Farley Elementary stapled to a note
stating $25 to Addy Joe – lunch money and $25 to Joseph Joe –
lunch money. Lastly, please secure the money by putting it in an
envelope and stapling or taping it to your note.

Watch D.O.G.S
We are looking for dads and
dad-like figures to volunteer
with Watch D.O.G.S.
Dads of Great Students is a
program that involves male
role models in the school.
Come and spend the day
at Farley and be the
lunchroom super hero of
milk cartons, dazzle the
students with your athletic
abilities at recess and help
out in your student’s
classroom. We promise, the
smiles alone will make you
want to sign up again!
More information will be
presented at Open House
but you have any questions
or would like to pick a day
to volunteer, please contact
David Hinkle at
[email protected] or
call/text at 785-215-9686.
Late Arrival, Transportation Changes and Dismissal
Students that are late must be physically signed in by a parent/guardian or it will be considered
and unexcused tardy. If your student will be tardy or absent, please contact the school before
9:30am to ensure they are accounted for and can receive a hot lunch if needed. In the event of
transportation changes, the Farley office must be made aware of any change no later than
2:30pm. Please note that teachers may not be able to access emails throughout the day and this
is not the best means of informing the school of a same-day change. Lastly, normal release time is
3:45pm. Car riders must be picked up promptly at 3:45pm. Failure to do so could result in action
from our district office.
Room Parents
Thank you to all of our room parents for coordinating parties for our classrooms this year. And thank
you to all of our parents for supporting them in their planning and preparations. We are looking
forward to a great year! Please see the list below for your 2014-2015 room parent.
