Charro Days Inc., City of Brownsville, volunteers, staff, employees and all persons from any and all claims or
causes of any kind whatsoever which may arise thereafter, attributable to, involving, arising out of or in any
manner resulting from participation in the Brownsville Christmas Parade. A $50 FEE MUST BE PAID BEFORE
PROCESSING THIS APPLICATION. Late entries will only be accepted no later than December 1, 2014 and a
late charge of $25 will be assessed for a total of a $75 fee.

We are happy to invite you or your organization to enter and become part of this year's Brownsville Christmas Parade presented by Charro Days Inc.
scheduled for Monday, December 8, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. In case of inclement weather the parade will be rescheduled, only once, for Monday, December
15, 2014. The Brownsville Christmas Parade kicks-off the Christmas lighting season for Brownsville. As in the past, we are asking that all parade entries
decorate or design floats with Christmas lighting being the predominate factor.
Parade Rules and Regulations:
1. The Parade Committee must approve all entries subject to all rules and regulations.
2. All entries shall be in good taste and shall be in the opinion of the Parade Committee that they add beauty or interest from the public point of
view.Holiday theme and lights must be observed. Vehicles pulling floats are also asked that they be decorated. (The only vehicles allowed in
the parade will be the vehicles pulling the floats or approved by the parade committee.)
3. A fee of $50.00 shall be charged per entry except for school students groups, bands and accompanying marching units. Non-profit
organizations must submit an official certificate as proof of status. (Not applicable to Sponsors)
4. Deadline for submitting applications is November 21, 2014. Late entries will be accepted until December 1, 2014 and will be assessed a
$25 late fee charge to total a $75 fee, this includes non profit organizaitons. Entry forms may be returned at the Charro Days Office Inc. at 455
E. Elizabeth Street (phone # - 542-4245) or by fax to Charro Days Inc. at 542-6771 (fax). (Application will only be processed when payment is
received.)
5. Participants must keep places assigned to them by the Parade Chairman. While in parade route, float participants are not allowed to leave the
float. (Walkers (3) allowed alongside each side of the float.) Parade assigned entry numbers will be available Tuesday, December 2nd.
6. Car/Motorcycle clubs are restricted to 6 vehicles per entry.
7. All entries must provide proof of insurance for vehicles participating in parade prior to receiving assigned entry number.
8. Assigned entry numbers must be taped to the inside of the vehicle's windshield under the rear view mirror prior to entering the check point
of the parade holding area. (Mandatory…No Exceptions!)
9. ALL ENTRIES must be parade ready (entry number, have sound system, generators, decorations, etc.) prior to entering the parade holding
area. The Parade will assemble at 5:30 p.m. on Monday December 8th, between 3rd and 7th StreetonWest Elizabeth Street.
10. The Parade route will go east on Elizabeth Street to the International Bridgeand the Jacob Brown Memorial Civic Center area. THERE WILL BE
NO STOPPING TO PERFORM DURING THE PARADE. ALL DANCING MUST BE IN A CONTINUOUS FORWARD MOVEMENT.
11. There will be ONLY ONE SANTA CLAUS in the parade. We ask for your full cooperation.
12.NO FLOWERS, CANDIES, SAMPLES, OBJECTS OR PAMPHLETS MAY BE DISTRIBUTED FROM ANY ENTRY ALONG THE PARADE ROUTE.
13. No vehicle or float will be allowed to display any political signs or bumper stickers.
14. Any P.A. or other amplification system must be restricted to music only. (NO TALKING)
15. Music must be maintained at a reasonable level that is neither distracting nor offensive to the parade viewer. Sound levels will be
monitored. Music must be of such a nature that it complies with the Christmas Theme.
16. Safety chains are required on all trailers.
17. No one is allowed to ride in vehicles with the tailgate open or on the hood of the vehicle.
18. The only vehicles allowed in the parade will be vehicles towing the floats and those approved for by
Charro Days Inc. (The Grand Marshal, The Presidents of the United States and
Mexico(or a member of their immediate family), Governors of Texas and Tamaulipas, ourUnited States
Senators and Congressmen, our Texas State Senators and Representatives, Cameron County Judge, Mayors of Brownsville and Matamoros,
Commissioners, and the President of Charro Days).
IMPORTANT: The above list of rules and regulations is not exhaustive. The Charro Days Committee may at any time,
make a reasonable determination that an entry may pose an unacceptable risk of disruption to the parade. All entrants not complying
with the rules and regulations, shall be subject to expulsion from the parade by the police department and/or Charro Days Committee
Representative.
1. Semi-trailers, high profile vehicles, unskirted floats, funny cars, and motor coaches will not be allowed to participate.
