Registration Agreement
Notice to all Santa Claus Parade Entrants
All applicants are responsible for their own insurance for their participants as well as their vehicles
and floats. Injury and/or property damage caused by applicant’s participants, vehicles and floats are
the applicant’s responsibility and not the Greater Sudbury Santa Claus Parade Committee or the City
of Greater Sudbury.
I, the undersigned (the applicant), have read this agreement including the attached Parade
Regulations, Marshalling Directions, Parade Dispersal Directions and Judges Rules and understand
their terms. I execute this voluntarily with full knowledge of its significance.

Parade Regulations and Directions
DON’T GET PUT ON SANTA’S NAUGHTY LIST!!!
Christmas Elves and Parade Judges will be on the look-out for any floats that;
- - Don’t have sufficient illumination
- Aren’t playing or singing Christmas Music
- - Only decorated a little or used ‘Bah – Humbug’ decorations
- Have ‘un’ merry participants, (rude or lacking the Christmas Spirit)
All naughty entries will receive a copy of the notice by mail with suggestions to improve for the following year.
After two annual notices, you will be asked to retire your float in the toy shop permanently.
General
To preserve the integrity of the parade, float entries must be approved by the Parade Marshall prior to the parade date.
1. All entries must include appropriate Christmas decorations and lighting.
2. Music is to be played or performed from floats and must not interfere with other floats.
3. Parade entries must not include a Santa Claus. There will be only one Santa in the parade and his
participation is already arranged.
4. No candies or other handouts may be thrown into the crowd from floats or vehicles. Walkers may give
out free candies or handouts.
5. All walking participants not in organized marching groups must be a minimum of 12 years of age and must
have proper illumination for safety reasons.
6. All parade participants must adhere to Parade Marshals instructions including direction from security
personnel.
7. Failure to comply with Parade Regulations may result in a ban from future parades.
8. All Participants must complete an entry form.

All drivers must be in possession of appropriate valid driver’s license and insurance.
Floats cannot be greater than 80 feet in length, 10 feet in width or 13 feet in height.
Use of horns is forbidden (e.g. air-horn, convention horn)
Participants must remain on floats during the parade and an adult must properly supervise children.
All walking float participants must have a type of illumination to ensure adequate visibility for safety
purposes

Marshalling Directions
The attached map outlines the marshalling and Dispersal areas.
1. Marshalling begins at 1:00 p.m. You will be advised the week prior to parade of your arrival time.
2. Only floats will be allowed in Marshall Area.
3. Be sure to give clear direction to parents of any children you might be organizing for your float.
Children in the marshalling area must be supervised at all times.
4. All parade entries must be in place by 5:00 p.m.
Parade Dispersal
1. The parade will finish at the corner of Elgin St. and St. Anne’s Road.
2. Those picking up children or participants are strongly encouraged to pre-designate a location outside of
the disbursement area.
3. Floats are encouraged to return to Notre Dame for unloading.

Marshalling and Dispersalsement Areas
The Parade Route is indicated on the Parade Map. Marshalling area is on Notre Dame Ave between St.
Annes Road and Kathleen Street. The Parade will finish at the corner of Elgin St. and St. Anne's Road.
Any changes or updates in the parade route will be posted as soon as possible on the Sudbury Santa
Clause Parade website
