President’s Message
Our Board of Directors, in conjunction with our Finance Committee, has been diligently
working on our new budget. The primary focus of our efforts needs to be on revenue
generation. The primary areas of opportunity are membership growth/retention, expanding our special events and ala carte revenues, and golf tournaments and related
events. We continue to reduce costs where appropriate. Some of the cost reductions will
be based upon the habits and preferences of our members.
I am pleased to announce that Marty Bowman and Chris Trate have agreed to serve as
our membership co-chairs. Please contact them if you are willing to assist in this vital effort. We are currently offering exceptional specials for new golf members. Now is the
time to take action if anyone wants to lock in these extremely attractive membership
rates. Our special offers will not be available after October 31, 2014.
Our entertainment specials are winding down for the year. The last major entertainment
event for the year will be on Friday, October 17th. The Frank Sinatra Idol Contest Winner, Sean Reilly, will be at FVCC for another amazing performance. You will not want to
miss this this spectacular show. This will be a great opportunity to bring guests to FVCC.
Sincerely,
Mark L Gardner, President

of our house committee: Gayle Hine, Frank McGinty, Bill Mosser, George Fausnaught, and Sarah Sommer with your
questions, or comments. Your input is welcome!
Members may have noticed several recent improvements to the FVCC grounds and club house. These improvements were
done by and under the guidance of John Christian. His crew consisted of Sandy Christian, Vince Maier, Greg Spancake, and
Bernie Wolf.
These improvements include:
Painting of the metal railings in the parking lot, the #9 ravine bridge, and the #10 and #13 bridges.
Repairing the bridge leading to the swimming pool after it was damaged by a falling tree.
Repairing the railing in the #9 ravine after it was damaged by a falling tree.
Straightening some of the tee box signs that were tilted.
Patching holes in the macadam.
Repaired plumbing in the ladies outside bathroom.
Building and painting the fence that now hides the heating/AC units on the #16 side of the club house. This fence also
keeps stored equipment out of sight as well as protecting the heating/AC units from any damage from golf balls etc.
Additional improvements include the bag/club stands built for the driving range by Vince Maier.
It is volunteer work such as this, done at a modest cost, that improves the appearance and usefulness of FVCC. At this time of
tight budget constraints such efforts are greatly appreciated.
Thank You John for your hard work and leadership!
Sincerely.
Barbara Maier
Your Club…
“A shot is not finished until the damage has been repaired.
Being a golfer means finishing every shot”
As the summer of 2014 comes to the end, we still have lots of events schedule for the fall starting with the appearance of Sean Reilly for the Frank Sinatra night on October 17th, this was a very well attended event last year and everybody
enjoy the music and the Italian buffet along with wines and the martini bar. Please make your reservations for the event so
we can better prepare.. Also don’t forget our Thursday nights buffet, you can find all details in the Frosty Valley News and
Frosty Valley Newsletter. Something new on October 24th the Greek happy hour in the Grille room, come out and enjoy Greek
appetizers and dinner specials.
Our fiscal year ends October 31st, and with 2 two months to go the sales are lower from last year, but we were able
to lower all our expenses for the year along with the food and beverage costs. While we understand that our menu is not that
extensive as in the past I think is the only way to manage the costs and waste, and keep the expenses lower. Your support is
very important for the financial stability of the Club. Please take the time and come out for lunch or dinner and participate on
our special events.
Finally when you make your reservations for any special event at the Club, and for whatever reason you can’t make it,
please try to let us know that you are not coming so we can use the table for other members.
Thank you for your continuing support.
All the Best!
Chris
Green Committee
Hello Everyone,
The weather has been very cooperative this year (the obvious exception being the hail storm), and as a result
we have enjoyed some very nice course conditions and great days of golf.
As you already are aware, our fall aeration has begun. Fairways were core aerated and again over seeded with
ryegrass. This is a key component of maintenance that we will continue to pursue in future years. Some equipment issues during greens aeration on the back nine delayed completion of the entire course, but aeration on
the front nine is underway as I type. Once complete, the greens will be over seeded with a blend of bentgrass.
Seth and his staff have done an excellent job this year of keeping up with the demands that come with maintaining our club. As the golf season winds down, please take a minute to thank them for their hard work. I also
would like to thank Andy for all his help. The Committee and I appreciate and can always count on his valuable
and honest feedback
Enjoy the rest of the fall season and please take advantage of the nice days in October to bring a guest along to
Frosty Valley.
Sincerely,
Eric Raski

FVCC CATS
Our Board of Directors has authorized PA Pets to assist us with
the trapping of our cat population. The primary focus of PA
Pets will be the cat population in the pool/creek area. PA Pets
will do the trapping during late afternoon and early evenings
during the week. We will also be partnering with Animal Care
Center to neuter the trapped cats. Kathy Gold will be the liaison
for FVCC and will coordinate our efforts. Our goal is to find a
new home for as many cats as possible. If you would like to
support the process by donating funds to cover our costs, donating cat food, or if you know of anyone that would like to
adopt a cat, please contact Kathy Gold or our Business Of-
fice.
