What doors has God opened for people you know? What doors might God be opening for you? Reading II: 1 Thessalonians 1:1-5b What is St. Paul remembering about these people that makes him grateful? What are the three most important virtues that he mentions here? Gospel: Matthew 22:15-21 Jesus’ enemies want to trap him. What do they say? What is the trick question they finally ask? In what way in the coming week can I use the Beatitudes as the measure of my actions? Are you someone or do you know someone who….. Has experienced an interest in becoming Catholic? Was Baptized as a child but has not yet celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and/or Eucharist? We offer an opportunity to come together in a small group and learn more about our faith. Join us in the RCIA process beginning this Fall! Contact Janet Gluch: [email protected] Finance update for Fiscal 2014 Dear Parishioners, The fiscal year ended in August, therefore I wanted to provide a quick recap of the year and where we stand as a parish. Words cannot adequately describe the gratitude and appreciation we, your finance council, have for your continued support. To put into perspective, we had budgeted a break-even year for our profit, but we ended the year nearly $23,000 to the positive. This surplus will be rolled into our savings account. Profit & Loss for FY 2014 Income Over the year, most income items stayed strong for the year and some actually trended higher over the year. One example: income from the plate, and any holidays was strong throughout the year and we ended the year about 8% higher than budget, or nearly $20,000. Overall income came in 12% higher than plan. Expenses Expenses tracked closely to plan, and most items ended overall only slightly higher than plan. Net Results The projected budget was for break-even results for the year. But again due to your generosity, and the staff watching the expenses closely, we ended to the positive $23.000. Raise up the Roof Loan Balance We began the year with a loan balance of approximately $333,000, and we ended the year with a balance of $245,000. All of our efforts will be to continue to focus on getting this balance paid as soon as possible. We have about 5 years remaining on the loan, based upon our monthly loan payment of $4,000 per month. As you can imagine, once the loan is paid in full, we will have significantly more flexibility for items that may present themselves to us. Continued blessings, and thank you all for your continued support and generosity. Erik Traulsen Finance Council Chair RELIGIOUS EDUCATION Please Pray for the Ill of our Parish Fr.
