The Port Carling Figure Skating Club is pleased to invite you to participate in the 26th Annual Santa
Skate Competition. This competition will be held in accordance with the General Rules and
Regulations outlined for all Skate Canada Competitions, unless otherwise specified. If there are
insufficient numbers in any event, the event will be cancelled.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Rules:
Skate Canada rules will apply throughout the competition unless otherwise specified.
Eligibility:
Entrants must be registered amateur skaters in good standing with Skate Canada. Skaters may
compete in the events qualified for by their test levels as of October 27th, 2014. Skaters are invited
to “skate up” ONE event category.
Registration:
An official entry form must be completed for each event by the competitor.
We ask that clubs send ALL ENTRY FORMS TOGETHER as well as one cheque for the TOTAL
entry fee rather than individual entries. Please provide a master list of skaters’ names and events
with your entry. Please print clearly or type list.
An “entry” consists of the following:
• For Starskaters (Entry Form, Entry Fee, proof of test, and a signed SCNO Publicity and
Liability Wavier).
• Incomplete entry forms will be notified via email by the Registrar and a $5.00 fee may be
required and possibly the entry form may not be accepted.
• Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Technical Representative and will be
subjected to a $20.00 LATE FEE. This late fee must be included with the entry form and
entry fee.
• Sending the entry form by Fax will NOT be accepted.
Interpretives: Skaters must submit a brief statement of the chosen theme and title with their Entry
Form.

REFUNDS: There will be no refunds under any circumstance.
MARKING SYSTEM: Star 1-5 assessment and CPC will be used . Our judges and officials are from
Skate Canada’s Judges and Officials List.
MUSIC: Only CD’s accepted. Two CD’s must be signed in at the registration desk at least one hour
prior to event. Clearly marked MASTER and COPY.
ICE SURFACE: 180 feet X80 feet
AWARDS: All flights are final. Star 1&2 will receive a report card and ribbon. Star 3 will receive a
report card and rosette. All others will receive medals. Awards are handed out at the community
centre as per the schedule.
REFRESHMENTS: Homemade soups, chili, sandwiches, drinks and goodies are available at the
Community Centre located beside the arena. All proceeds to the Port Carling Figure Skating Club.
VIDEO SERVICE: Video service will be made available by WINTEK PRODUCTIONS.
EVENT SCHEDULE: The final schedule will only be emailed to your EITHER your club
representative or coach as indicated on your club summary sheet.
ICE CAPTAIN: All skaters must report to the Ice Captain one hour before the scheduled event. If
you are skating in the first event of the morning, please report to the Ice Captain ½ hour before your
event.
INSTRUCTIONS TO CLUB COMPETITION CHAIR AND OR COACH:
*** Please check all forms thoroughly before submission. After registration is closed, a finalized
schedule of events will be emailed to ONE email address for each club. It is the responsibility of the
coaches, skaters, and parents to ensure that their skater(s) are registered in the proper event
A $5.00 administrative fee will be applied to any skater who has been put in the wrong skating level
or event.
Please have ONE main contact for each club. That will be the only person that will be emailed
the final schedule.

Two to Four skaters make up a team as long as all elements are performed. There must be a minimum of two skaters. In the event that you cannot get two skaters from one club, you may have participants from different clubs on one team provided that each skater only compete for one team in the same event. Each skater is required to complete one or more of the elements required. The competition hereby consents to the use of his or her name, biography and likeness on or in connection with any television, radio program, motion picture, print media or the advertising and publicizing of such program as my be designated by Skate Canada‐Northern Ontario and waives all rights to remuneration or otherwise in connection with the above. The foregoing is subject to assurance that the eligible status of the competitor will be fully protected by Skate Canada‐
Northern Ontario. LIABILITY WAIVER It is understood and agreed that Skate Canada, Skate Canada‐Northern Ontario or the Local Organizing Committee shall not be liable for injury or loss occasioned by the Athlete while traveling to or from or during the Port Carling Santa Skate nor shall Skate Canada, Skate Canada‐Northern Ontario or the Local Organizing Committee be responsible for any damages or losses caused by the Athlete during the same time. The Athlete and/or Athlete’s parent(s)/legal guardian agrees to indemnify Skate Canada, Skate Canada‐Northern Ontario and the Local Organizing Committee and hold it harmless from any claims or demands in respect of such loss or damage.
