UNC Greensboro Scholars Program: These merit based scholarship awards range from $2,500 to full
tuition, fees, room and board. These selective awards are given to students on the basis of exception
academic achievement. Special awards are given in the areas of: Business, Education, and Arts and
Sciences. Students must have: 1800 on SAT (27 on Act) and Cumulative GPA of at least 3.5. Students
must apply to UNCG by Dec. 1st . Applicants are automatically qualified if requirements are met.

The Levine Scholarship Program at UNC Charlotte
Levine Scholars receive a full four-year scholarship which includes: tuition, room and board, laptop,
service project grant, and four summer enrichment experiences focusing on the development of leadership
skills, social awareness, and an international perspective. A successful candidate will have: 1) minimum
unweighted 3.8 GPA; 2) 1800-2400 SAT Score (CR, M, & W) or 29-36 on the ACT composite Interested
students should see your counselor ASAP to be nominated. Deadline for school counselor to submit online
nomination form is October 15, 2014. Deadline to submit admission application, supplemental
scholarship application, and recommendation forms is November 8, 2014.

Davidson College Belk Scholars: Awards comprehensive cost (tuition, fees, room and board) and two
$3,000 summer stipends. The scholarship is valued at over $58,000 in 2012-13. Eligibility: Students
who have demonstrated exceptional promise in academics, character, leadership, and service are those
who should seek a nomination from his/her school. Students must have all nomination materials from
their high schools completed and received by Davidson by November 7, 2014. All admission materials
must be completed shortly thereafter, but no later than December 1, 2014 (College must receive by this
date).
Horatio Alger Scholarship: Scholarships given between $5,000-$20,000. Students may apply online
between August 1st and October 25th 2014 at www.horatioalger.org/scholarships.
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship: Up to $40,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited
undergraduate school. At a minimum, applicants must: Plan to graduate from a US high school in spring
2014 , Intend to enroll in an accredited four-year college beginning in fall 2015, Earn a cumulative
unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above, Receive standardized test scores in the top 15%: SAT combined critical
reading and math score of 1200 or above and/or ACT composite score of 26 or above, Demonstrate
significant unmet financial need. We will consider applicants with family income up to $95,000.
However, we anticipate that a majority of scholarship recipients will be eligible to receive a Pell grant.

Coca-Cola Scholarship: Applicants are evaluated on the basis of demonstrated leadership in academics,
school, community and civic activities, as well as personal character and motivation to serve and succeed.
Scholarships are valued at $10,000 or $20,000. You need a minimum 3.0 GPA at the end of your junior
year of high school and plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution in the United States. Apply
online at www.coca-colascholars.org .Deadline to submit application is October 31, 2014
Gates Millennium Scholars Program: Numerous students will be awarded scholarships to attend
accredited colleges or universities in the U.S. Eligibility states that an applicant must meet the following
requirements: African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, or
Hispanic American, Have a GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) or have earned a GED, Have
demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extra-curricular or other
activities, Meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria. Application is available at www.gmsp.org.
Deadline for online application is January 14th, 2015.
AXA Achievement Scholarship: Recipients are selected based on ambition and drive; determination to
set and reach goals; respect for self, family, and community; ability to succeed in college. Winners in
every state nationwide receive scholarships of $25,000, $10,000 and $2,000. Focus is on students'
personal accomplishments. For more information, visit www.axa-achievement. Deadline for applying for
2014 is Dec. 15th or until they get 10,000 applications. Check website in September for updates.
SunTrust Off To College Scholarship: Seniors can register to win a $1,000 scholarship for 1st year
expenses at an accredited college or career school. Registration begins Sept. 15. From Oct 31 - May 15th
a student winner will be drawn every two weeks. First drawing will be held on Oct. 25th. Students can
register 1 time for each drawing and after that drawing he/she may register for next. T register visit

Wendy’s High School Heisman - If you have at least a “B” average and participate in at least one high
school sport see Mr. Brown in guidance to get information on filling out this online application. The first
25, 0000 applications completed get a $10 Wendy’s gift card.
Golden Doors Scholarship: The application can be reached at http://www.goldendoorscholars.org/applynow.html.All applications are due by midnight on October 2, 2014.Undocumented high school seniors
and graduates who have not completed a 4-year degree are eligible to apply. Applicants should already
have received or be eligible for DACA status.
NCSHP's 2015-2016 NC Hispanic College Fund: The North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals
established this charitable fund at Triangle Community Foundation to benefit Hispanic students in North
Carolina. The North Carolina Hispanic College Fund awards annual scholarships worth between $500
and $2,500. Scholarships recipients are recent graduates of North Carolina high schools who are of
Hispanic/Latino background. Recipients of a NC Hispanic College Fund scholarship must enroll in a
degree program at a community college or a 2 or 4 year college/university and be committed to public
service and community development. Selection Criteria: Graduate of a NC high school within the past 2
years, a four-year cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale, 2 letters of recommendation from a high
school teacher, principal, pastor, employer, or other community leader, an official high school transcript,
personal statement (500 words)
