Hispanic Scholarship Fund – Deadlines vary
Awards scholarships ranging from $1,000. To $2,500. Requirements are you must be of Hispanic heritage; be

Horatio Alger Scholarship – Deadline October 25,2014
Program Eligibility Criteria student must be a high school senior, exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and
complete a bachelor’s degree, demonstrate critical financial need, be involved in co-curricular and community
service activities, display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0

The Foundation will select up to 40 applicants nationwide for this highly selective scholarship. Open to
graduating seniors who intend to enroll full time in an accredited 4-year college in fall 15, cumulative unweight
GPA of 3.5 or above, receive standardized test scores in the top 15%(SAT critical reading/math 1200+; ACT

This award is to recognize and reward a student who demonstrates a passion for volunteering, while

of 50 hours of volunteer work over the past 2 years, maintained a GPA of 3.5 or higher, submit an essay on the

Ventura Elks Lodge Most Valuable Student – Deadline December 5, 2014
Awards – Local level - $500
National level- up to $50,000.
Open to any high school senior who is a US citizen is eligible to apply. Based on scholarship, leadership, and
financial need. Male and female students compete separately for identical awards. Applications must advance
through local, district and state competitions to reach national judging. In late April, the top 20 finalists will
participate in a Leadership Weekend in Chicago competing for awards up to $50,000.

Debra K. Geist Memorial Scholarship – Deadline December 15, 2014
Award - $500.
Candidates must be a US Citizen or US National; must be a Ventura County high school senior with records of
public or community service whom are committed to careers in business. Candidates must be enrolled in or
applying to a two or four year undergraduate program. Winners will be selected by the Scholarship Committee
each year, based on merit and answers given on application essay.

Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising – Deadline April 30, 2015
National Scholarship Program awards over $300,000. In scholarships. Through this competition, seven
students who demonstrate an exceptional talent and interest in Fashion Design, Visual Communications,
