Five Tips for Fall Fitness
Take advantage of the weather. Fall can be a treat for the senses: the crisp air, apple picking, pumpkin
carving, and a gorgeous canopy of fall foliage. This is a great time to exercise outdoors and enjoy the
cooler temperatures. Walking, hiking and cycling are all great in the fall. Discover park trails and take in some
new scenery.
Think outside the box. Always wanted to try Zumba? Attempt a Water Exercise class? Take a Spinning class? Fall
is a great time to learn something new. Try one of the 100 weekly classes offered or schedule a free program
review with an exercise specialist to do something new at LifeWorks.
Be an active TV watcher. Many people get geared up for fall premieres of their favorite television shows. If you're
going to sit down and watch hours of TV, get moving, make a date with exercise and TV. While you watch, you can
walk or run in place, do standing lunges, do tricep dips off the couch, or lift weights. During commercials, do pushups or sit-ups. In a one-hour show, you probably have close to 20 minutes worth of commercial interruption.
Rejuvenate yourself. Fall is the time to rejuvenate your body, mind and spirit. Get a Massage after your workout.

yourself to activities that promote wellness, so you can feel good physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Find your motivation. People are motivated by different things. It's important to first discover what your individual
goals are, whether it's losing weight, strengthening and toning, or preparing for a race or event. But goals aren't
enough to get you there; you have to be motivated by the day-to-day workouts. So choose something you'll enjoy
doing and will be likely to keep up, whether it's walking or hiking with a friend, working with a trainer, or taking part in
a class. Creating a challenge for yourself will motivate you, as will encouragement and accountability.

Fitness Coaching is provided by our degreed and certified exercise specialists.
Included in your Fitness Coaching is:
• Assessments & Re-Assessments: An assessment
is a combination of fitness tests and measurement to
provide you with a baseline score of your fitness
level. We recommend a re-assessment to measure
your progress. This can be
done every three (3) months.

• Program Reviews: Program reviews are one-onone appointments with our exercise specialists to
change up your current exercise routine every three

• Blood Pressure Checks: Have your blood pressure

Guest Policy
Guests are welcome at LifeWorks but
must follow our policies.
 All guests 18 years of age or older must
present a valid photo ID.
 Local guests are permitted only three visits per
calendar year. Guest fees apply with each visit.
 To receive the member discount for the guest fee, the
member must be with the guest.
 Guests 17 or younger, must be accompanied by an
adult who is 18 years of age or older.
Towel Amnesty Month
October 2014
It’s time to check your closets,
your gym bags and cars.
We are asking that if you have taken a LW towel out
of the facility, to please return it this month.
No questions asked.
Reminders
• Please limit the use of perfumes, colognes and
aerosol sprays when in the locker rooms,
especially when going into the pool area and/or
taking classes. Fellow members who have
sensitivity and respiratory conditions can have
reactions.
• Shower prior to pool or whirlpool use.
• Due to camera access, cell phone use is
prohibited in the locker rooms. Talking on your
cell phone is not permitted while using the
exercise equipment.
• There is no photography permitted at LifeWorks.
• Please wipe down machines when you are
finished. Spray bottles are located around the
facility.
• Please be courteous and allow others to use
strength equipment in between your sets.
