WELCOME & ANNOUNCEMENTS
OPENING SONGS
Word of God Speak
I’m finding myself at a loss for words,
And the funny thing is it’s okay.
The last thing I need is to be heard,
But to hear what you would say.
Refrain: Word of God, speak. Would you pour down like rain,
Washing my eyes to see your majesty,
To be still and know that you’re in this place?
Please let me stay and rest in your holiness.
Word of God speak.
I’m finding myself in the midst of you,
Beyond the music, beyond the noise.
All that I need is to be with You,
And in the quiet, I hear your voice. Refrain.
Your Grace is Enough
Great is your faithfulness, O God. You wrestle with the sinner’s heart.
You lead us by still waters into mercy.
And nothing can keep us apart.
So remember your people, remember your children,
remember your promise, O God.
Refrain: Your grace is enough, your grace is enough,
your grace is enough for me.
Great is your love and justice, God.
You use the weak to lead the strong.
You lead us in the song of your salvation.
And all your people sing along.
So remember your people, remember your children,
remember your promise, O God. Refrain
So remember your people, remember your children,
remember your promise, O God. Refrain
Your grace is enough.
Heaven reaching down to us.
Your grace is enough for me.
God, I see your grace is enough. I’m covered in your love.
Your grace is enough for me, for me.
OPENING PRAYER
MEET & GREET YOUR NEIGHBORS
SONG OF PRAYER
Still
Hide me now under your wings.
Cover me within your mighty hand.
Refrain: When the oceans rise and thunders roar,
I will soar with You above the storm;
Father, you are king over the flood.
I will be still and know you are God.
Find rest, my soul, in Christ alone.
Know his power in quietness and trust.
Refrain
JOYS & CONCERNS &
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the
kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

CLOSING SONG
Mighty to Save
Everyone needs compassion, a love that’s never failing;
let mercy fall on me.
Everyone needs forgiveness, the kindness of a Savior,
the Hope of nations.
Refrain: Savior, he can move the mountains;
my God is mighty to save, he is mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation, he rose and conquered the grave;
Jesus conquered the grave.
So take me as you find me, all my fears and failures;
fill my life again.
I give my life to follow everything I believe in.
Now I surrender, yes, I surrender. Refrain
Shine your light and let the whole world see
we’re singing for the glory of the risen King. (2x) Refrain
You’re my Savior. You can move the mountains;
God, you are mighty to save, you are mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation, you rose and conquered the grace;
yes, you conquered the grave.
You are mighty to save.

ST. MARKS’S UNITED METHODIST WOMEN BOARD Meeting
Tuesday, October 21, 9:30 Room 155.
ALL SAINTS SUNDAY On the first Sunday in November, we again remember
St. Mark’s church members who have gone to be with the Lord since this time
last year & giving thanks to God for the gift of each life. In addition to the
church members names, this year we are inviting the congregation to submit
names of loved ones you would like placed in the bulletin for All Saints’
Sunday. These loved ones would not be members of St. Mark’s & would have
been deceased after November 1, 2013. Please send a written submission (for
correct spelling of name) to the church office via email:
[email protected] , mail or drop off. DEADLINE is Wednesday October
29.
STRAWBERRY FREEZER JAM As in previous years, I made Strawberry
Freezer Jam to sell at our church Fall Festival. We participated in the Rotary
Artisans’ Festival in Centreville October 4 & 5 instead of having the festival
here. I could not take the jam there to sell due to Health Department regulations.
I am offering it to St. Mark’s members & friends. The cost is $4.00 per half pint
jar. I have 20+ jars available. If you are interested in purchasing any, please
call me. All money goes toward ‘Paying Down the Debt’. Ann Yingling 410

RADA CUTLERY FUNDRAISER Sarah Circle’s annual fall Rada cutlery
sale will take place October 1 through November 16. All profit benefits MidShore Council on Family Violence. Since beginning this project in 2005, Sarah
Circle’s contribution to them has been over $3900.00 which includes our initial
donation to them of $1500.00 & sponsoring a family each Christmas. Because
of your help, we are able to continue this worthwhile project. In addition to
cutlery products, other items included in the catalog are meal starters, soups,
cheeseballs, dips, stoneware, cookbooks, gift books, & cooking utensils. Rada
products make great Christmas gifts! Catalogs, which include ordering
instructions, are available in the gathering area. If you have questions, please
call Ann Yingling @ 410-820-8592.
UPDATED EMAIL ADDRESSES We are asking for your help! We have
found that copying & mailing The Markings each month is quite an expense in
our yearly budget. If you would be willing to receive your copy of the
newsletter each month by email instead of hard copy, this would cut down the
expense of copying. We are currently mailing about 850 issues each month &
emailing only about 80 newsletters. Please fill out a form (they are in the
Gathering Area) giving us your current email address & letting us know if you
are willing to receive your Markings each month by email. Or you can just email
[email protected]. We promise that we will not share your email
with anyone outside of St. Mark’s! We all need to pull together to cut down on
church expenses to balance our budget! Thank you for your support!
AMAZON UPDATE we have earned $8. & some change from people using
smile.amazon.com & clicking St. Mark’s United Methodist Church as your

forget when you are shopping for Christmas or everyday items go to

Come & be a part of how God is leading St. Mark’s in living out our
vision & mission. Everyone attending will be a part of a discussion group
surrounding the 6 Pillars of a Vital church. Those pillars are as follows:
Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Mission & Ministry, Evangelism &
Stewardship. Please prayerfully consider in which area you have the
greatest interest & passion. The groups will establish one to two goals for
each pillar so that we can begin to focus on where God is leading St.
Mark’s in the near future. Below is a brief description of each pillar:
1. Worship: A vital & fruitful church offers meaningful worship
experiences that connect people to God & one another. Includes:
music, prayer, worship arts, technology
2. Fellowship: Each of us discovers our role/our gifts in life through
our relationship with others. We are called to belong to the body
of Christ through fellowship. Includes: small groups, welcoming
& hospitality, large & small fellowship events
3. Discipleship: A vital church offers meaningful learning
experiences that help people of all ages understand Scripture, faith
& life so that they can know Jesus Christ. Includes: Sunday
School, study groups, Bible studies, mentoring
4. Mission & Ministry: Mission & ministry is demonstrating God’s
love to others by meeting their needs & healing their hurts in the
name of Jesus Christ. Includes: ministry groups, missions
outreach, compassion, mercy & justice ministries
5. Evangelism: The church exists to communicate God’s Word. It is
every Christian’s responsibility to share the good news of Jesus
Christ wherever we go. Includes: evangelism team, outreach
events, invitation, intentional follow-up with visitors
6. Stewardship: This area includes being thoughtful & diligent
stewards of our resources as a church & our unselfish willingness
to give in order to make a positive difference for the kingdom of
God. Includes: facilities, planned giving, intentional generosity,
reduction of debt
Please send an RSVP to [email protected] by the 20th,
with your choice of pillar!
