CHEMICAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY
CAREER INVESTIGATION QUESTIONNAIRE
Applications and proof of admissions requirements must be submitted by February 1, 2015. Seats are offered based on academic ranking and
quality of the Career Investigation Questionnaire.
Students should check their mySAIT.ca account frequently. Once their status changes to “In Selection,” applicants are responsible for completing
and submitting the Career Investigation Questionnaire to [email protected]. Only electronic copies will be accepted.
Students must answer the Career Investigation Questionnaire truthfully and in complete sentences. The questions will be weighted as follows:
1) About you (25%)
2) About the program (25%)
3) About chemical engineering technology careers (25%)
4) About industry (25%)
Applicants who fail to complete the Career Investigation Questionnaire will be excluded from selection.

Below is a guideline of what each section of your questionnaire should contain. Please limit the response in any section to a maximum of two
hundred words.
1. About you: Tell us about yourself.
• Autobiographical information
• Why did you choose the CET program?
• Past post-secondary education, both partial and complete
• Past work experience, both industry related and non-industry related
• Travel experience
• Personal interests
• What other skills or attributes do you have that would make you a strong student in our program?
2. About the program: Tell us what you know about the CET program.
• What types of courses are offered in the program and which interest you the most?
• Have you ever been on SAIT campus or participated in any SAIT programs such as Student for a Day, Information Sessions, Open House, or any
other events?
3. About CET careers: What does a chemical engineering technologist do?
• Where do chemical engineering technologists work?
• What are some of the general categories of work that chemical engineering technologists do?
• What are some of the specific tasks that a chemical engineering technologist may do?
4. About the Industry: What do you know about the chemical engineering technology industry?
• What kind of employment or type of work interests you the most in industry?
• What salary would you anticipate upon graduation?
• What do you think is the future outlook for this type of career?
