There are many exciting activities to look forward to this term, especially for our Year 6 students. The Concert will be a strong focus as the term progresses. Year 2 and Year 3 have already enjoyed their Adventure Day and Camp this week whilst the Year 4 students will attend their camp at the end of the month. Work hard everyone, we only have 9 weeks to go! MY TIME ON LEAVE I am very pleased to be back at school and am very appreciative of Kevin Oakey, Leah Kaliviotis and the whole staff for taking care of all our students during my leave last term. I had a wonderful trip exploring beautiful sights in America and Canada as well as spending precious time with my grandson. Yellowstone National Park was an absolute highlight, the wildlife in Canada and of course my grandson. CURRICULUM DAY 3 NOVEMBER Monday 3 November is a Curriculum Day and students are not required to attend school. OSHC care will be available if there is sufficient demand. Best of luck goes to Lachlan K, Lochlan J, Ella C, Luke G and Charlie P, Zach C, Austin D, Abby B, Chloe B, Jodi W and Katia K. We know they will do us proud! Additionally, on Friday, 50 of our Year 6 students will be heading out to Mulgrave Reserve for our annual T20 Blast (Kanga Cricket) day. Best of luck to all students that are involved! Michael Hogg, PE Teacher YEAR 2 ADVENTURE DAY On Tuesday the 14 October the Year 2 students went to Wombat Corner at Emerald Lake. We went by bus to Belgrave then went on Puffing Billy to Lakeside Station. It took about 1hour, on Puffing Billy. When we got to Wombat Corner we did 6 activities. The activities were mini golf and low ropes, rogaining, and trampolines, flying fox, initiative trail and photo trail. Our favourite activities were the flying fox and the trampolines. We all thought it was an awesome day. The Year 2 Adventure Day is a great introduction to our Camps Program. It was very exciting for all the students with a ride on Puffing Billy followed by turns at many challenging and fun activities. They all came home tired but happy. Thanks to the staff and parents who planned, supervised and cared for our students. Mr Coughlan, Miss Wood & Year 2. Year 3 Sovereign Hill Camp We arrived at school on Monday morning at 8:30am and got ready and left on the bus. In two and a half hours we got there and got in our cabins and made friends with our roommates. We were put into groups with Mr Howe, Mrs Pensa, Mr Jeffery, Mrs Harrison, Ms Walker, Mr K, Ms Beagley, and Mr Noordhoff. Some groups went bowling, gold panning and some looked at shops. Afterwards we had lunch and a little rest in our cabins. We got ready for dinner and went to the New York Bakery. For dinner we had chicken curry and some kids liked it and some didn’t! For dessert we had brownies with cream! The next day all the groups did the Red Hill Mine Tour and went shopping. Some got a horse shoe with their name on it. You could also get posters and a coin with your name on it. After that came the long bus ride home. Some kids slept and some kids talked. Thank you to all the parents who came along. P.S The weather was terrible but we still had fun!
