What a great weekend we had at the Wisconsin Invitational Karate Tournament! Yes, we had many happy participants, however, win, place or show, everyone conducted themselves as martial artists. Many other participants and school owners approached Master Beck and commented on how well our students handled themselves when they won and, more importantly, when things didn't go the way they had wanted. Showing good sportsmanship and respect to your fellow competitors is a true test of a martial artist! Thanks also go out to the many volunteers, as well as the spectators who made the event a great success! October 10-11, 2014 Bloomington, MN Diamond Nationals The Diamond Nationals Karate Championships held in Bloomington, MN, is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world and has become a tradition for many Wisconsin martial artists, competitors and spectators alike. The Black Belt Team at USAK is an upgraded program especially for students who have set an important goal; to achieve the rank of Black Belt. Some students set their sights on this goal at a young age. For that reason, we are adding a Kinder Kicker Black Belt Team program, to jump-start these ambitious Kinder Kickers! Kinder Kicker Camo Belts! In our Kinder Kicker classes, we are all used to seeing Color Stripe Belts. But when a Kinder Kicker begins preparation for the Basics “Big-Kids” Class, they earn a special rank - the Camouflage Belt! If your student promotes to this belt, it means that they are beginning a new and exciting phase in their martial arts training! Camo Belts attend their Kinder Kicker classes and are permitted to attend one Basic Class per week. November 2014 Graduation Schedule CERTIFICATION WEEK Monday, Nov. 17th - Thursday, Nov. 20th Instructors will run all classes this week using ‘Rapid-Fire-Drills’ as the process for conducting Certification. This will allow the instructors to provide an appropriate amount of challenge for students to pass their Certification. This process also doubles as a graduation rehearsal. ITPs and payments will be accepted anytime Monday thru Thursday of this week. When both of these items are turned in, that information will be documented on the student’s attendance card, and then a Qualifying-Instructor can begin evaluating the student’s ’rapid-fire-drills’, and communicate to the student what adjustments are needed for them to pass their Certification. The student may attend as many classes as they need during this week to achieve this goal! Once any Qualifying-Instructor sees that all of a student’s ITP items are turned in and feels that the student has made all possible adjustments to pass the ‘rapid-fire-drill’; the instructor will award them their Red-Stripe! This means that the student has passed their Certification, and may attend Graduation Day!!!
