She is a Sixth degree black belt in Shotokan, the main system taught at Champion Karate. She has been training in martial arts for over 25 years. She has competed on the United States National Team multiple times taking her all around the world. She is a repeat USA National Champion most recently winning a gold medal for fighting, silver medal in kata, and bronze in weapons. She won three silver medals at the 1997 Pan-American Championships and most impressively won the gold medal in fighting and two silver medals at the 1998 World Championships earning her the elite title of World Champion. She is currently a consultant for the nationally acclaimed martial arts magazine American Samurai and was named Level A coach for the USANKF making her one of only two females in the United States qualified to coach the USA National Team. She most recently attended the 2008 World Karate Championships in Tokyo Japan as a member of the coaching staff for the United States Olympic Committee coaching team USA!
