I would like to begin by saying THANK You to every Member of this great club. Your
support, suggestions and ideas have been welcomed and appreciated. These last 7 months
have really flown by for me. Largely because there was a lot of work to be done. There is
still, and will always be a lot to be done at the club, and I am honored and extremely proud
to be here with you. My pledge to every member is that I will remain dedicated to the
quality of every experience you have each time you are here. TEAM Stonebridge is striving
for excellence every day . Thank you again for everything you do.
Six months ago we embarked on a sustained, high energy, membership campaign.
Once again I am pleased to welcome 21 additional NEW members, and we are extremely
proud to announce that we have welcomed 201 NEW MEMBERS to our Stonebridge Family
in the last 6 months. THANK YOU !!
Tommy Stinson and our great grounds crew have continued their hard work all
around the course. The course looks great and the quality of play is very good. Thank you
Tommy and TEAM !!
Randy Jobson has continued to provide great play at the Tennis Center as he always
does. Thank you Randy and TEAM !!
There is some new equipment at the Fitness Center. This comes from the suggestions
of several members. THANK YOU !! We hope that everyone enjoys the improvements.
Friday nights continue to be a lot of fun. Prizes !! -- Putting “Fun Test” --The weekend
dining specials and the Sunday brunch menus have been and will continue to be excellent.

Growing up in the South, football is a way of life. It is almost a sort of pseudo-religion here. It’s not just for the boys
either; the ladies are just as enthusiastic about the game. There is such a ritual of it. Shopping for months to pick
out the perfect outfits in your team colors. Traditional tailgating recipes that are prepared the night before to add
that perfect effortless Martha Stewart touch to every Saturday. Waking up at the crack of dawn to ESPN gameday
while getting ready to head as close to the stadium as possible. For those of you who cant make it to Athens,
Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, or your favorite college town, join us at the Tavern for a great seat near the big screen
every Saturday for college games.

USTA Update
Our three teams, Women’s 3.5, Women’s 4.0 and Men’s 4.0 have begun their matches. The season
will run to approximately November 30. If you would like to play on one of the teams please
contact the tennis center.
Junior Team Tennis Matches
On October 11 and November 1 our 10 and under SB junior boys and girls are invited to play tennis
matches. This will be a great way to experience match play! Matches will be held at Doublegate CC.

Fall Stonebridge Junior Tennis Clinics
The October session junior clinics will start October 1, Monday and Wednesdays, from 5-6pm for
beginning/intermediate boys and girls 4-14 years. The USTA Quick Start concept (low compression
balls, lower nets, smaller courts) is used to help kids have more fun learning how to play tennis and
learn faster! September cost is $90 ($105 nonmembers). Sign up by Tuesday, September 30.
Stonebridge Club Doubles Tournament in October
Our annual tournament for members only determines the club champions for the following events: Men’s and
Women’s 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 doubles and 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0 Mixed Doubles. The tournament will kick off on the
weekend of October 25-26 but will be played over a two week period to accommodate more players. In
addition, Stonebridge players will have a blackout date that weekend so there will not be any league matches
scheduled. Cost is $15 for one event and $20 for two events (limited to one doubles and one mixed doubles
events) with a consolation round or round robin. Entry fee includes balls and awards. All champions will have
their names engraved on our permanent Champion’s Plaque. Sign up deadline: October 22.

All tennis players: Each Monday we will send out an email announcing the Weekday/Weekend tennis. If you
would like to play that week, please respond to the email and indicate which day or days you would like to play.
