This question is not without controversy and apprehension from not only some Christians but non believers as well. Last week, Community Church, set aside a day to honor our spiritual forefathers and spiritual brothers and sisters who are of the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. As believers of Jesus (Yeshua), we were grafted into the Abrahamic covenant and therefore are entitled to receive the blessings from that covenant along with the Jewish people. As we obey God’s Word (Genesis 12:3 “I will bless those that bless you…”), the Lord says He will bless us. The Lord told Abraham, “…in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.” We reach out for the Lord’s special blessing toward us as we honor Him and His people. After all when Jesus (Yeshua) came to earth, He Himself came as a Jew! There is a saying that is truth: “So goes Israel, so goes the world.” The things of this world are affected by the situations going on in the nation of Israel. The Bible calls Jerusalem ‘the city of God.’ It is the place that was chosen at one time to erect the temple of the Lord. It is a place where our Savior, Jesus Christ preached, performed miracles, and demonstrated not only mercy and grace but authority and power! The Lord gives instructions and promises for those who pray for the nation of Israel in Psalm 122:6, “pray for the peace of Jerusalem; they shall prosper that love thee.” Lastly, the Word says in Psalm 121:4, “Behold, he that keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.” As our heavenly Father shows His love and mercy for Israel, so shall we, His children, show love and mercy to them as well. Thank you church for blessing Israel with a gift of $376 last week. Let’s all continue to bless Israel through prayer and offerings.
