Church Evacuation Overview
In the event of an emergency you are requested to remain where you are in order to
receive instructions on how to proceed.
If we need to evacuate the building:
1. Please follow the instructions of staff positioned along the way and head to the
designated safe area.
2. Parents please do not attempt to go and get your children if they are in Children’s
Church. Once all children have been accounted for, you will be allowed to reunite
with them.
3. Please do not attempt to go to your car or to drive off the parking lot.
4. Please remain in the designated safe area until instructions to return to the building
are given.
We are so happy to have you worship with us today.
As you take your seat, please take a minute and familiarize yourself with
where the exits are located.
In the event of an emergency you will receive appropriate instructions from
the pulpit.

Come for a lively and informative evening to hear how Howard County
Candidates for the County Executive and the School Board respond to
PATH's agenda of Affordable Housing, Youth and Seniors. The PATH agenda
is based on 1000 face-to-face conversations our institutions have had with
people about the most pressing issues to individuals and families in our
county. Senator Allan Kittleman and County Councilwoman Courtney Watson
are confirmed, and we are inviting all of the candidates for School Board. We

~October is Domestic Violence Awareness (DVA) Month~
Pastor Turner’s sermon series on
“Healthy Relationships” continues TODAY, Sun., Oct. 19th
We know that domestic violence is a not a seasonal issue; it is a serious threat to
normal family life and that’s why we are taking action at St John.
We have designated TODAY, Sun., Oct. 19th DVA Sunday at SJBC. We are working in
partnership with Hope Works, formerly the Domestic Violence Center.
Also today, HopeWorks will be in SJBC Classrooms 157 and 158 following each service
to provide information and answer questions about DV.
The opposite of love is not hate…it’s selfishness.
Don’t waste your time flipping through the channels for something to watch.

Empowerment over Domestic Violence (DV)
DV is a social epidemic that everyone should be committed to eradicating!
Empowerment comes through awareness, education and prevention.
SJBC in partnership with HopeWorks (formerly the DV Center of Howard County) will
be presenting a two part series on DV in November and December to bring focus to
this very serious issue.
Part 1: Men Focus—A Man’s Role in DV

**Sun., Nov. 16th is Men's Day and all men of SJBC should be a part of this session.**
Part 2: Women/Family Focus—The Impact of DV on Women and Families
