Please let me know if you have any questions ([email protected]) Please ensure that you enrol for all PLD workshops/courses/discussions/networks on HRNET – (Upper Hutt and Wairarapa Teachers please email Alysha at [email protected] ) this is really important not only for hand-outs and catering purposes, but it ensures that details of all the professional development you have attended are up-to-date (important for renewing your teacher registration practicing certificate) Ngā Mihi Curriculum Development Dispositions in Action – Follow up 4 Nov (Wellington group) 26 Nov (Kapiti group) Leadership Norma, Jenny, Andy, Anne, Annette, Helen K, Helen S, Paula, Lyn and Lynette Leadership Discussion Group: 23 October These sessions are follow ups for the groups that have already attended the full workshop . We will continue to discuss teacher practice that actively supports dispositional learning and what ‘progress’ means from a dispositional point of view. Teachers are encouraged to bring examples and/or be willing to talk about what they have been working on and thinking about since our last session. We have decided to combine the two leadership groups into one for this term. Further details will be sent to those who have previously attended. Tikanga Māori – Horowhenua to be confirmed Knowledge Acquisition Learning and sharing. Please bring kai to share with the group! Enviroschools at: Mungavin Kindergarten 13 November This gathering is for teachers in the Porirua and Kapiti areas to get together and discuss sustainability and environmental ideas. It will be facilitated by Arihia who works for Enviroschools, alongside Paula, Helen or Lou. Come along and learn from each other about what the latest thinking is, and how you and your community can contribute to sustainable practices. Enviro-schools at: Sunshine Kindergarten 19 November This gathering is for teachers in the Wellington area to get together and discuss sustainability and environmental ideas. It will be facilitated by Paula, Helen and/or Lou using some of the knowledge gained from being involved in the Enviro-schools programme. Come along and learn from each other about what the latest thinking is, and how you and your community can contribute to sustainable practices. Carrying the Tapa – Success for Pasifika Learners: Upper Hutt 26 November This workshop is to support non-pacific teachers to strengthen their teaching responses in their work with Pasifika children and their families. It will explore how to effectively engage with families, to develop an understanding of Pasifika values, and how to be a more effective teacher, understanding your role and responsibilities in this area. Community of Learners Special Needs Cluster meetings: Upper Hutt (14 Nov) and Wairarapa (19 Nov) These are the ongoing discussion meetings for ex Rimutaka teams, and ex WRFKA teachers are also welcome to attend if your non-contact time permits. – contact Annette if you would like further details ([email protected]) IPAD Coffee Discussions: we are again offering two coffee chat sessions this term – one for more experienced users and one for those teachers/kindergartens just starting with IPADs.
