James C. Embry, Jr. Fall Festival Work Day Saturday, October 25 9-11AM Fall Semester 2014 Sundays at 5PM Fall Festival Work Night Wednesday, October 29 6PM Final preparations for the Fall Festival. -2- AWANA Youth Discipleship The Legacy Journey by Dave Ramsey Children of the Day by Beth Moore Men’s Bible Study The Daniel Plan by Rick Warren P.L.A.C.E. Discovery Class A Word on Worship by Elmer Towns The effectiveness of worship is not measured by atmosphere, or by how fast the songs are sung, or how deeply we meditate on solitude. It is not measured by a new Plexiglas pulpit, or using no pulpit at all. It is not measured by raising hands, by affirming the Apostles’ Creed, or by congregational applause. It is not measured by responsive readings, or by listening to an expositional sermon based on a proper interpretation of the text. Cinco Baptist Church Music Ministry Tim Wright Worship Pastor Andrew Saludez Ministry Associate to Music/Youth True worship is always measured by the response of the believer’s heart to God. True worship is measured by the transformation of worshipers because they have been in the presence of God. True worship is measured by repentance because worshipers have faced their sins and asked for forgiveness. True worship is measured by new insights about God that deepen their daily walk with God. True worship never allows us to remain the same person we were before we came into the presence of God. Sherri Harkins/Helen Key/ Karen Williams, Dir. As I write this article, it’s now officially the first day of Fall! And there is actually a 6 in the first digit place of the temperature this morning, so… close enough!! THERE WILL BE NO LEGACY CHOIR ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 1. Around Cinco Baptist, for many of us, Fall usually signals a lot of opportunities to serve in different capacities around our Church! Most of these opportunities are very missional in nature – things like Fall Festival and then some great mission opportunities around Thanksgiving and into Christmas! We would encourage you, as an ABS class, to get involved in these opportunities, not as individuals, but as a Class!! Encourage your class to be involved in these events, all together! It’s a great way to enjoy some times of fellowship AND serve God’s Kingdom through His Church! Ms. Kelly will definitely need your help at Fall Festival – and will be sharing information with your Class Teachers/Leaders of how your class can help out. Then, closer to Thanksgiving, we will be sharing information about making donations to put together the Thanksgiving Baskets that we share with our community, usually through local schools! So, stay tuned for more info about all of these great opportunities! And get involved, as a Class, to serve God!! Legacy Choir meets on Wednesdays at 9:30AM in the Kidd Street Center. We also have a Bible Study during See ya Sunday morning! Legacy Choir rehearsal! Currently, we are studying Tim A. B. S. C o r n e r -4- through the Book of Romans.
