Desiring God’s Word
How strongly do you desire God’s word? Do you long to open your Bible, and
study its message, the bread of life? 1 Peter 2:2 tells us we should the word of
God as a newborn babe desires milk. As some of our new mothers can tell you,
newborn babes desire milk several times a day. For a newborn child, milk is
usually needed every 2-3 hours. So how strongly do you desire God’s
word? Do you open your Bibles during the week to study God’s word? Or is
your Bible just for Sundays and Wednesdays? The Bible is bread for daily living,
not cake for special occasions. We were meant to long for God’s word. I find
that the more I study, the more I want to study. And of course, the more I study
the more I learn. May we all seek to spend time daily in God’s word.
